I also question who wishes to down-tick these. Other threads I watch have many, many pointless posts if the down-ticker would like to check those out?

Perhaps because of the speculation than has surrounded the company/ share price, ABDN was simply oversold in comparison?

The change in fortunes of Abrdn share price cannot be explained by current known facts and usual lack of PR news flow. The SH 500£million return was muted now what seems a long time ago with commitment to processing before EOY as a part empathy payment for dropping out of FTSE100. With the current dividend not covered by the EPS and reports on higher shorter action, it only creates more confusion. I hope Abrdn approach this as an opportunity to recover their status and show a clearly strategy to growth. I’m still not convinced on this and on the fence to sell my stake for more robust well covered divi companies Hoping for clear news & soon GLA

spud agree - The reversal started on 13 October when they took out the 2009 low and created a double bottom on the share chart, the share are under extreme accumulation ever since mid-September last month and has closed positive every day since then is this a potential stakebuilding? or a hedge fund that is getting very tanned?

L&G are also up - but by no means as much as Abrdn. I hold both and have seen the value difference between the higher (L&G) and the lower (Abrdn) halve in the past four weeks.

So the share price goes up 70p in a couple of weeks cos there's a possibility of a 25p dividend. Hmmmm .....

Upon checking shorttracker.co.uk I noticed they still use the ticker SLA.

Presumably the data is current, even if the ticker hasn't been updated?

£500m equates to circa 25p. Only a rumour at this moment in time and any takeover would most probably negate that. spud

Unless there's been considerable Short covering (and I can see no evidence of that), this could well be indicative of a takeover situation.
