The debt here is unsustainable.

Was a good buy at orevious bombed out prices, but i expect it to gradually fade back to those levels as the rise was a short squeeze.

Any opposing views?

Sold out. (SIPP)

Latest extension of debt maturity has made me decide to take my healthy profits for opportunities elsewhere.

Good luck.

short squeeze perhaps over for now, significant reduction in their positions but it's still a huge debt pile with a small company attached. as for my personal experience of this company i couldn't help but notice that their online quotes (car insurance) have become more competitive of late - it's easy to write new insurance business (which would flatter the headline numbers in the short term?) but harder to produce long term gains. still, my annual renewal experience is not a basis for a long term investment decision.

A profit is a profit well done, looks like a few are, but
it would appear the aqr are still shorting whilst
others close, dyor.

srpactive - yes

Sold 25% of my AA holdings just in case recent buying was all driven by short covers.

c50% return SIPP
c35% return ISA

Still hold long view and recent events are encouraging.

Insurance underwriting producing good contribution.
Memberships stable.
Inflation falling a little.
AA strengthening board and improving corporate governance.

The trouble is a big move high of one hundred
percent could unfortunately be short into
again, imho.

Short covering gave AA its biggest daily gain on record. Full-year results from the roadside repair group showed steady customer numbers and revenue growth at its insurance division.

Simon Breakwell, the AA’s new chief executive, bought stock after the update.

Very nice of you to say, although the AA. is still
very high risk due to the debt, locking in a profit
is not always a bad thing. I do feel the shorters
will attack again.

This is just my opinion and every investor should
do their own research.

I usually only have a small portfolio of decent
yielding stocks in recovery.

Others of mine are hgm and gvc ( I have been in these two
for years though ), I will not mention
the very, very high risk one that gives me sleepless nights
as that would be unfair to readers.

The Telegraph digging up the ex ceo claim again,
how many times do they need to do this before it
is deemed to much?

It does make me wonder.

"Yes, but it is disgusting that all the shorters
were spouting worry and unnerving investors"

That is the nature of the beast. They will still be watching for any hiccups down the line.

Personally I would like something like a tick-up rule to be brought into place but turn it on its head and just accept that if society deems shorting acceptable then use it as an opportunity to slowly build-up holdings in companies like the AA.

I have started an investment in SAGA and am also looking at Topps Tiles. Topps Tiles will be a smaller investment though. All steady builds. No rushing here.
