05/3/2018 13:49 | No problem, Minerve, and if your AA investment is anything to go by I sincerely hope that the next 20 years are kinder to you than the last 20. Respect!! | badger60
05/3/2018 13:10 | badger60 I am happy and content with my investment here. That isn't a lie. I truly am. I don't expect much for the next 12-18 months because it takes time for the strategy to have an affect - if any. The previous board did not fully engage with the plan at IPO because they didn't have the courage to disappoint, and be fully transparent with, investors. There was also too much pressure on maintaining the dividend. I don't judge my investments on share price behaviour but on the underlying business progress. If society can plow £Bns into crypto currency using energy equal to that consumed by the US (predicted 2019) when we are supposed to be reducing our carbon footprint to save the planet results in me not having any confidence or respect in much of other human behavior. Therefore what others decide to do with their shareholding in the interim is completely and utterly of no significance or interest to me. Let them short this to hell. I will just buy in cheaper. I look forward to it! | minerve
05/3/2018 12:44 | Blowout phase, ive nibbled more | cantrememberthis2
05/3/2018 12:17 | badger60 Listen no one is asking you to invest. Go to the Post Office and open up a savings account. That is my advice to you. | minerve
05/3/2018 12:11 | Stop posting like a cretin Minerve...... anyone who shorted this stock at any time in the last 1,2,3,4,5 etc, years....up until close of play last Friday......is making money. ......and those that have bought are losing...... | badger60
05/3/2018 12:05 | badger60 You are assuming all shorters bought in right at the top and all shorters continue to hold! You are also assuming sales are driven always by shorters. A bit naive in my opinion. I would hazard a guess, although I don't really care, that the majority of short interest started recently after the strategy review announcement. So please, less of the "300%" nonsense. You are making yourself look to be a fool. | minerve
05/3/2018 12:03 | There you go......soon we'll be trading with a 60p's handle..... | badger60
05/3/2018 11:53 | .......but in the meantime those nasty shorters are only up 300% on current share price .......the idiots!! | badger60
05/3/2018 11:15 | badger60 The shorters are just exploiting populist fashionista sentiment. We are, of course, happy for them to do that in this case because: (a) Capital is very unlikely to be raised via a rights issue; and (b) opportunities for us to invest at lower prices. This is a long-term game. Shorters will eventually have to go and find another pet project. | minerve
05/3/2018 10:54 | I certainly can't disagree with you on that one.........those with understanding and intellect who shorted AA a year ago are now up 2 quid a share....... | badger60
05/3/2018 10:46 | itcm1 Woodford is buying because he views the debt as manageable, as do I. If you believe the debt is manageable and the company can grow with the recent plan then it is a good investment. If you don't believe the debt is manageable then fine. I wouldn't argue against that either. There in no right or wrong here. It is up to investors to decide whether it is worth the risk. That is all. If things got really desperate, there are things the AA can do without breaking debt covenants. It has a revolving cash facility available which it hasn't used and has a considerable amount of cash in the bank. The populist fashionistas will band on about the debt. That's easy. Seeing the opportunity requires deeper understanding and intellect IMO. | minerve
05/3/2018 10:21 | Itcm1 - check out PFG - vindicated. | cantrememberthis2
05/3/2018 10:15 | But Neil Woodford has 15% here and he knows everything there is to know about investing. Infact he has travelled the investment universe - presumably with AA breakdown cover. Mr Woodford was adding only last week so the market MUST be wrong if Neil is buying. | ltcm1
05/3/2018 10:13 | FCF yield getting even better. | minerve
05/3/2018 10:13 | Bring it down chart boys. I will buy some more. 2-3 tranches left for buying. | minerve
05/3/2018 09:36 | Support broken. This could go significantly lower. out | tsmith2
05/3/2018 07:15 | b60 Well you might be right, only time will tell. At least we have a balanced thread here. | srpactive
05/3/2018 03:02 | srpYou are catching a falling machete going by your posts#254, #260. Outstanding debt circa £2.7bn + pension black hole = £3bn+ to service. T/O circa £950mio, net profit circa£150mio.......w | badger60
04/3/2018 23:15 | Have they really got £3.3bln debt?...wasn't aware of that...normally for a FTSE 100 company!!...is it serviceable?... | diku
04/3/2018 17:34 | B60 Completely disagree. | srpactive
04/3/2018 06:55 | Imo, with £3.3bn debt including the pension black hole, we are far more likely to visit 50pps before 100pps. The share price is really struggling to break 80p which signals that the next move will be sub 70pps. | badger60
