MGM’s pulled out of Proposed deal with Entain.

Might they look at 888 as an alternative?

Good to hear that the US partnership is being enhanced. I have mixed feelings about whether I would like to see Caesars launch a bid

888 Holdings plc - 888 extends strategic U.S. partnership
19th January 2021, 07:00

888, one of world's leading online gaming entertainment and solutions providers, is pleased to announce that it has agreed to a multi-year extension of its exclusive B2B poker partnership with Caesars Interactive Entertainment ("CIE"). The new agreement will see 888 continue to power the World Series of Poker ("WSOP") brand's online poker rooms as the company plans its entry into new regulated markets.

WSOP is the world's most prestigious and longest-running poker series, which sees hundreds of thousands of entrants from across the globe compete for millions of dollars with live tournaments broadcast to an international audience. Through the partnership, 888 will continue to provide its turnkey poker platform and services to CIE in the U.S. including bringing the WSOP's online poker rooms to players' mobiles and desktops.

The partnership will also see 888 continue to power the U.S. market's only interstate shared player liquidity poker network across the states of New Jersey, Delaware and Nevada, connecting an increasing number of poker players to enhance the availability of poker games and formats for its customers.

The agreement will see the launch of "Poker 8", 888's next generation software, in the U.S. Poker 8, which successfully launched in Europe in November 2020, is a significant advancement in user experience including new graphics and animations while also including key features like multi-day and multi-flight tournaments.

In addition to powering the WSOP online poker brand, the partnership will also see 888 continue to supply its proprietary casino platform and content to CIE's casino brands, Harrah's and World Series of Poker Casino in New Jersey. The partnership will also enable 888, through the WSOP brand and subject to regulatory approvals, to gain a presence in new jurisdictions across the U.S., such as Pennsylvania, where CIE holds a license to operate.

£3 certainly seems to be a ceiling we find impossible to sustainably breach. I think this is the third time in the last few years

Certainly the business outperformance and wider sector consolidation was priced in, we were sub £2.50 in Q3 before WMH and Entain moves. Happy to consolidate at these levels, with the rise this is my largest holding. Patience required as always to realise true value. The outstanding proprietary platform and technology will be in high demand from larger competitors and US casino operators, i think 888sport is a fantastic brand to develop.

A Bid already appears to be priced in, which imo, is why the update hasn't had much impact on the share price

I expect a bid from Vegas Sands coming this year.

Another record month in New Jersey just shy of one billion.

rim, my comment was based upon volume not sp, 320p was my last selling price.

I have buy orders in ca 300p which the current volume suggests they could be filled today.

Nice article in the sunday telegraph “US giants bet on british bookmakers” focuses on entain but a paragraph on 888 “according to city sources 888 will be sold the issue is the shaked brothers who own 25% want a stupendously high price”

MGM will raise their offer and take out entain, then we are just waiting for a bid but we are at 320p so bids will need to be close to 400p I feel.

I'm not sure much pull-back is likely at the moment given the M&A activity in this space. Obviously good for shareholders, but sad to see more UK companies being hoovered up
