02/10/2019 17:20 | Any clues re today's fall? Broker note? Bad news on something? | jerseyman1
30/9/2019 11:17 | I'm looking to make a buy, but not whilst the premium is so high, especially with a market drop imminent, though when is anybody's guess. Private equity , whilst profitable in the main (assuming good stock picking), is volatile, and getting in at a high premium when values may be about to come down, isn't a good idea, IMHO. In fact, now could be a good time to take some profits, and wait to buy back in at a lower level. I don't think there's too much risk of the price running away right now. | andrewbaker
29/9/2019 16:51 | jonwig I saw the Capital Markets slides, but their publication coincided with a slide in the shares for the next couple of days! To be honest I wasn't overly impressed with the three investments they highlighted, but I guess it's fairly early days in the investment cycle with those, and they can't overhype things.Whatever the reason for recent rises I'll enjoy the ride | jerseyman1
29/9/2019 09:28 | topvest - I bought at IPO, but gave them to our daughter who gets automatic dividend reinvestment. She hasn't the foggiest idea what they're worth. I did buy more last year when they dipped below 800p. | jonwig
29/9/2019 07:56 | 3i has been doing really well. My shares in 3i are now a 5-bagger in less than 10 years, before dividends. I guess quite a bit of this is due to ACTION which has been a stellar investment. Happy days. | topvest
28/9/2019 13:43 | @ Jerseyman - well, the 18/09 Capital Markets Seminar has gone unremarked here. The presentation: | jonwig
28/9/2019 11:09 | Volatile price this last couple of weeks, culminating in very strong rise this last three days. Apart from article re discounts to NAV closing on some better investment trusts (can't recall where) any views as to why 3i performing as such? Particularly as it has a significant premium to NAV already.... | jerseyman1
23/8/2019 13:55 | While ago now, can't remember, I use many data sources, anyway I'm on the beach atm enjoying the sun ? | chc15
23/8/2019 13:34 | Well could you please post a copy of the specific article/item which said institutions were buying 3i at that time Thanks | truffle
23/8/2019 13:05 | Besides when the price rises so much, it can only be down to institutional buying. | chc15
23/8/2019 13:03 | I use various data sources to check this Including:http://inv | chc15
23/8/2019 12:19 | CHC15 Your post on 2/7/19, I asked you why you thought institutions were still buying? Appreciate a reply | truffle
23/8/2019 11:24 | This has held up very well recently, was hoping to top up, but pleased to be long term holder. | chc15
31/7/2019 07:32 | Action valuation does look rich, but if store openings continue at rate of 16% of existing sites and lfl sales are up 5%, and stores generate cash rapidly then probably justified. Liquidity event in second half of 2019 trailed in results for full year should support/disprove this valuation. | jerseyman1
31/7/2019 06:14 | Quarterly Investment Report: I see their Action stake has revalued by 13% in the quarter. (£ only fell from €1.16 to €1.12 in the period.) | jonwig
29/7/2019 07:20 | Anyone else not able to log in,,,,,,message telling me I've not used device before and need to register it by phoning up with a code ? always used this pc and getting same message on my phone,,,,,,,, | cheshire man
02/7/2019 11:39 | Agree, but not sure how you know institutions are still buying? Apart from being a good investment in its own right the company is probably a good hedge against weakening sterling due to its strong Euro and USD investments | truffle
02/7/2019 11:00 | Keeps going up this, institutions still buying at this level, was tempted to take profits, but nothing better to put in, firm hold for me. | chc15
13/6/2019 15:48 | Significant fall over and above ex doc effect. Any ideas why? | jerseyman1
13/6/2019 14:24 | Yes - noticed that. What was the % divi? | watfordhornet |
