firing on all cylinders. tough to trade this one as you say so i always keep a core. dont think you need to touch the core until they think about spinning off action. theyve not sold a single share since they invested, in fact they have increased their holding and when simon decides its time, it will be time. but there are a good few years growth in action to come. its always packed when i pop in. really good set up, reminds me of wilkos from back in the day.

The Company notes recent media speculation and confirms that it is currently in discussions with J.C. Flowers & Co regarding a potential acquisition of Interactive Investor.

There can be no certainty that these discussions will result in a transaction and a further announcement by the Company will be made as and when appropriate.

i have a core holding which i dont see myself selling in the near future, while i have traded around it a few times this year in a bid to add some alpha. while not particularly cheap in terms of nav, its cheap on other metrics and the action stake has tons of mileage in it yet so in my mind its one of the most solid ft100 shares.

I never sell nowadays, been holding and accumulating this for over 10 years. Whenever I have sold, the price just goes up!

was thinking of selling my trading position in this one (otherwise the shares are a core holding) but earnings are close by and we got a nice move on solid volume yesterday, i think it could still offer upside into earnings. we are on the cusp of breaking a trendline back to 2010, which opens up a move above 14 quid initially and potentially much higher.
action performance will be key here and its the right price bracket for a rising inflation environment, so it will be interesting. for the shares its all about if they can overcome the resistance channel which today is at 1360p

Good it stayed above 13. Institutions like Newton etc, will still be buying 3i, so 15-16 is achievable.

My expectation of £13.30 buy results may be too conservative.

£13.50 plus ?.

on a 2-3 year view pretty confident of £15-£16 plus
providing the bull market continues.

If not that, it's the growth runway for Action, which looks quite incredible.

EU companies are less likely to take the public route, and 3i would want to keep the growth and profits in house.

Assumed the plan for Action was an IPO within the next 2 years,
however re-reading some of the comment, Action
appears to be held as a longer term compounding opportunity.

5,000 stores for has been mentioned and there are under 3,000
currently, it may be under 2,000, need to double-check.
3i also see a... huge white space opportunity - I assume that
means adding additional shopping categories in store.
