Val-d'Or, Quebec, November 27, 2013, - Knick Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: KNX) is pleased to report that the Chib- Kayrand area "Vein No. 9" grab sample that assayed 420.37g/t gold (Knick press release Oct. 30, 2012) has returned 0.2% tungsten-trioxide. The Scheelite vein area has also returned tungsten with gold as 3.2% tungsten tri-oxide (WO3) in a grab sample which assayed 51g/t gold (press release Nov. 7, 2013).
Initial 2013 grab samples results on "Vein No. 9", by Knick taken to confirm historic reports of tungsten ran 0.64%, 0.63% and 0.55% tungsten tri-oxide (previously reported Oct. 8, 2013 press). The samples were obtained from the vicinity of the 1951 bulk sample that assayed 0.45% tungsten tri-oxide and 1g/t gold, reported by G. Dumont (MNRQ GM files).
The tungsten affiliation with gold in the Trecesson Batholith vein systems increases the potential of outlining economical deposits in the area.
The company's re-assessment and sample re-analyses for tungsten from all its exploration work on the Trecesson Property is ongoing.
The property covers most of the Trecesson Batholith which has similar characteristics to the Bourlamaque Batholith of the Val d' Or mining camp. It is located 12 km north of the town of Amos and approximately 65 km north northwest of Val d' Or. The Trecesson Gold Property is traversed by paved and all weather gravel roads making it accessible year round.
China controls approximately 80% of the market followed by the former USSR with about 8% (reference: SIDEX, Exploring for tungsten in Quebec). Typical grades for tungsten are 0.3 to 1.5% tungsten tri-oxide for veins, lower for stockworks.
Grab samples are selective by nature and are unlikely to represent the average grade of the mineralized zone.
Samples were sent to Expert Laboratory in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec for analysis.
Fire assay, multi element scan and XRF method were implemented for analysis.
Standards and blanks are submitted by Knick routinely to insure quality control.
