By Proactive Investors

Arc Exploration's (ASX: ARX) rock chip sampling from initial benching at the Singgahan Prospect of its Trenggalek Project in East Java, Indonesia, has highlighted a broad zone of anomalous gold-copper-molybdenum in the weathered bedrock.

Results include 140 metres at 0.045ppm gold, 386ppm copper and 4ppm molybdenum as well as 100 metres at 0.063ppm gold, 276ppm copper and 5ppm molybdenum.

Ian

Your 100% correct. I phoned the Share Valuation people on 0115 974 2222 and they said AIM and Ofex do not apear on list. Done exactly as you stated by putting it on the return for them to consider.

Jas

I seem to remember reading somewhere that AIM stocks never appear on the list - only main market shares.

If you want to claim the loss on ARX, I believe that it needs to be agreed with your tax inspector. Alternative is to put it through at £0 on the CGT forms (with appropriate notes on the calculation sheet) and see what happens.

Anyone know if I can claim ARX as a tax loss yet on my tax return. ARX does not appear on the following list yet.

If you can what dates and prices can I use.

Thanks in advance

ARX have a deal/arrangement with Watermark do they not ?

One of advfn top losers today

UK smallcap opening - Watermark plunges as finance talks end, forecast slashed

LONDON (AFX) - Shares in Watermark were out of favour, plunging 28-1/2 pence
to 79-1/2 following news that the company, which provides in-flight products and
services to the airline industry, has terminated talks with potential providers
of private equity finance and slashed its full-year profit prediction by 2.7 mln
stg to around 3.1 mln.

daveelectec - 21 Jul'06 - 16:21 - 28129 of 28134

That sounds like another nail in the lid to me !

biswell - 21 Jul'06 - 17:55 - 28130 of 28134

Oh dear look what Watermark said yesterday in a RNS

'Following recent discussions with potential providers of private equity, these revenue streams have been downgraded by a further #0.6m and expected income derived from the sale of cargo containers has been downgraded by #0.4m. '

When a Co goes bust, eventually the shares end up on the Shares of Negligible Value list, meaning they can be included in CGT calcs. I expect ARX to join them. But List doesn't seem to include PTG, Stratus or VEOS. is this because they were AIM shares?
If so, how does the write down work?

steve36 is right. I phone the relevant taxation helpline to get confirmation, but in the end it is up to the Tax inspector to decide if it isn't on their formal 'negligible value list'. I got them to check if it was on their list up to today, as the web-list is only updated at the end of each month. ARX isn't yet on their internal list for January.

I think, we can include the capital loss on our tax return for tax year 06-07 i.e. the one that must be submitted by the end of this month. But we would need to add the comment justification that:-
1) the Aerobox plc made a regulatory release on 24/1/07 that "the prospects of any returns for shareholders of ARX[Aerobox] are likely to be minimal" [source: RNS]

2) Aerobox's only asset (a US subsidary - ACS) entered Chapter 11 on 23/1/07, when "the Judge declared that the equity interests of Aerobox plc are expunged, determined, retired and effectively wiped out and of no value". [source: the subsidary's CEO]

3) Aerobox made a further regulatory release on 15/3/07 that "there is very little prospect of any return to ARX[Aerobox]" from its only asset (a US subsidary - ACS) [source: RNS]

4) Aerobox filed for the company to be dissolved in November 2007.

rongob, I'm also making very good gains with MDX.

Regarding Aerobox; it was always high risk/reward. Unfortunately, it fell down on the side of risk rather than reward. Some you win, some you lose. No point in worrying about it though.

I wanted to frame my share certificate, as a reminder to not to be so daft in future!! Unfortunately, my shares are in a nominee account, and because the shares are suspended & de-listed, I can't move the shares to a certificated form. I guess the shares will forever remain with my broker, at zero value!!! LOL!!

I'm currently trying to transfer all shares in my existing broker account to another broker, but I can't move my worthless ARX shares. So even after the transfer I can't completely close my existing account, because of Aerobox. Another Aerobox legacy!

A good update Mike, and a sad end to what could have been a life-changing shareholding for many.

Even through my bearishness of ARX's share price, I still believed they had a world class idea. Just goes to show you need more than that to make a company eh.

Best wishes in whatever you invest in in the future, and a plague upon Tom, Davidcod and Jaber et al for their constant ramping of this.
