Euro-zone economic sentiment index rose in October

Compared to a level of 5.40 in the prior month the economic sentiment index recorded a rise to 12.30 in the Eurozone, in October.

German economic sentiment index climbed in October

In Germany, the economic sentiment index registered a rise to 6.20 in October, higher than market expectations of a rise to a level of 4.00. In the previous month, the economic sentiment index had recorded a level of 0.50.

German current situation index climbed in October

The current situation index advanced to 59.50 in October, in Germany, compared to a level of 55.10 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the current situation index to rise to 55.50.

US Redbook index fell in the last week

In the week ended 07 October 2016, on a monthly basis, the seasonally adjusted Redbook index in the US registered a drop of 0.20%. The Redbook index had fallen 0.40% in the previous week.

US Redbook index rose in the last week

The Redbook index recorded a rise of 0.50% on an annual basis, in the week ended 07 October 2016, in the US. The Redbook index had risen 1.30% in the previous week.

US small business optimism index dropped unexpectedly in September

The small business optimism index eased unexpectedly to 94.10 in the US, in September, compared to a level of 94.40 in the previous month. Market expectation was for the small business optimism index to climb to 95.00.

Canadian housing starts recorded a rise in September

The seasonally adjusted housing starts climbed to 220.60 K in Canada, in September, compared to a revised reading of 182.40 K in the prior month. Market anticipation was for housing starts to rise to a level of 190.00 K.

Japanese corporate bankruptcies declined in September

In Japan, corporate bankruptcies slid 3.41% on an annual basis, in September. Corporate bankruptcies had registered a rise of 14.87% in the prior month.

Japanese Eco Watchers Survey for future outlook advanced in September

In September, Eco Watchers Survey for the future outlook in Japan recorded a rise to 48.50, higher than market expectations of an advance to a level of 48.00. In the prior month, Eco Watchers Survey for the future outlook had recorded a reading of 47.40.

Japanese machinery orders rose more than expected in August

Machinery orders rose 11.60% on a YoY basis in August, in Japan, more than market expectations for a rise of 7.90%. Machinery orders had registered a rise of 5.20% in the previous month.

Japanese machinery orders declined less than expected in August

In August, machinery orders fell 2.20% on a monthly basis in Japan, lower than market expectations for a fall of 4.70%. Machinery orders had climbed 4.90% in the prior month.

Japanese Eco Watchers Survey for current situation fell unexpectedly in September

In September, Eco Watchers Survey for the current situation in Japan dropped unexpectedly to a level of 44.80, compared to market expectations of a rise to a level of 45.80. Eco Watchers Survey for the current situation had registered a reading of 45.60 in the previous month.
