FreeLoadr, a product developed for PC gamers by UK blockchain specialist Online Blockchain plc (LSE:OBC), is now in invite-only beta.

FreeLoadr (www.freeloadr.com), which already has a waitlist from its closed beta phase, enables PC gamers to get their favourite video games free by simply running the Freeloadr application.

Users can cash in on their graphic computing power (GPU) and immediately earn points from the moment they run the Freeloadr software. These points can then be redeemed at the FreeLoadr store, which boasts 2500-plus of the hottest Steam and Origin titles – including the likes of Anthem, Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Any computer with a NVIDIA GPU can take advantage of this system to get free PC games. The more powerful the users’ PC, the quicker points can be earned. In a simple exchange of graphics power for points, FreeLoadr uses the donated graphics processing power for a wide range of blockchain support, which it then compensates its users for with games. When FreeLoadrs have earned enough points, they select the title they want and are then sent a code which unlocks the game of their choice.

This is a compelling use case for blockchain and a first from OBC. Details of the beta can be found at www.freeloadr.com.

“We want to take the power of the blockchain to add value and make it possible for anyone, anywhere to get the computer game they want using the latent power of their PC. We have made this possible for anyone with the current generation of gaming computer to do just that without needing to be a blockchain or programming expert,” said Clem Chambers, CEO of Online Blockchain plc. “Just press go, let the software run and get a game of your choice. It really is that easy.”

“Computer games is a compelling market, and OBC is unlocking it through the paradigm shift that blockchain technology offers. Freeloadr is a breakthrough product for both blockchain and computer gaming and we are delighted with its progress,” he continued.
