Having been keeping an eye on this I'm now concerned enough with anti-Kooth rhetoric to sit this out until further explanation from the Company. hTTps://www.theepochtimes.com/epochtv/concerns-over-kooth-app-in-pennsylvania-schools-5635701?utm_source=ref_share&utm_campaign=twitter&rs=SHRNCMMWhTTps://youtu.be/yKk6PgkWuho?si=42TcD8UXIs31JWtcWhilst a lot of the sources above need to be taken with a pinch of salt (many inaccuracies) the rumours of Arizona "showing them the door" and the loss of Penn school districts is something I cannot crosscheck any other way or breeze over. Hope the company can address and assuage the concerns which it must be aware of.

Forgot to add, the Slide deck makes clear it will be the Soluna platform in the Aetna partnership, in addition to Soluna coming to the U.K. in the next 12 months from the results RNS.

Results Slide Deck also now on site. Aetna Medicaid partnership on Page 11. This is delivery of what was a stated strategic aim from October's presentation, so I see this as real progress in the 6 months. hTTps://investors.kooth.com/docs/koothplclibraries/archive/presentations/2023-full-year-results-presentation0584d90d-0df5-44c1-8c98-2791711e1e25.pdf

Have a look at Page 4 of the PA Budget - Budget cycle. The budget gets submitted to Legislature in Jan/Feb and from Feb to June is the Legislative Review and Enactment. Budget Fiscal year doesn't start until July. I think Kooth have slightly misguided in expecting news by the end of the quarter from last IMC webinar, but can also see why there is little update one way or other due to process. Also, I think it's fair to say Penn is equally covered by "discussions underway in a number of states..." Tim did say nothing could be signed and announced until entire State budget formalised in Q5 of last IMC. hTTps://www.budget.pa.gov/Publications%20and%20Reports/CommonwealthBudget/Documents/2024-25%20Budget%20Documents/Budget%20Book%202024-25%20-%20Web%20Version.pdf

I thought this was fantastic on PENN -In Pennsylvania, we were delighted that within a year of launching Kooth over 1-in-10 high school students were accessing Kooth, demonstrating strong uptake during the pilot phase of this contract.

We need news on Penn, suspiciously very little mention in the results. Lets see what management say in interviews.

"discussions underway in a number of States, and a partnership with Aetna to pilot Kooth in Illinois to support youth in low-income families that qualify for Medicaid. The latter represents a potentially significant expansion of our modes of funding, and in turn a reinforcement of our market position."The Aetna Illinois Medicaid post-period signing a welcome addition in the report.

I read this:

Even if every one of the initiatives in the Governor's budget is fully funded, Pennsylvania will still have an $11 billion surplus by the end of Fiscal Year 2024-25. This is on top of the fact that the Governor's vision maintains a balanced budget and does not raise taxes.

This formal Penn contract is making me nervous. At the TU update in Jan and on the management call it was said to be close to finalisation.

That is a very good post, mighunter, despite my own current expressed reservations. Thanks for taking the time to put it together.

Thanks for that news, mortal1ty.

I have sold a small holding I had here, as the reported position of KOOTH does not square comfortably with my own values. (I had thought support of mental health was a nice ethical play).

As it happened, I have also recently become aware of the bigger competition KOOTH faces in USA. See, for example, Talkspace [TALK]; and then try Googling the main competitors of Talkspace. KOOTH had thus in any case become a weaker hold.

‘Pro-transR17; website funded by NHS under investigation
Kooth site accused of directing users to information about hormone use and breast binding

A teenage mental health service funded by the NHS is being investigated by health officials, amid accusations it is promoting the trans agenda and allowing the spread of dangerous anorexia advice.

The Kooth website, which is aimed at children aged 11 to 18, describes itself as an “online mental wellbeing community”.

But officials are examining safeguarding concerns, with accusations that those working for the site have directed schoolchildren to sites that promote the use of hormones and breast binding.

There are also concerns that the site’s moderators have allowed dangerous advice about anorexia to be shared, and failed to prevent young people bullying each other.

Yes the $3m delayed receipt would have resulted in a nice beat on the "at least" $34m. Good to see advancement in Penn too for the extension. One to keep tucked away.

My question is - why is any sort of SaaS metric relevant here? I understand what they want to be classed as, but why not as a fast growth services business (until contracts fully ramp), and then just a normal services business?

Which would of course imply a very different multiple. If Kooth had fully rolled out and was say growing 5% a year, what's the right multiple for this business? And bear in mind you could theoretically lose the contracts you have at some point down the line (not super diversified customer base)

I'm not sure the answer is more than 20x P/E, maximum?

It is precisely that - a hybrid route. They have their team in the Uk and are building one in Penn - I think further afield ( as in other parts of the world - maybe states too?) they will look for partners to deliver the human interaction using their technology as the interface. I should imagine that is a big part of their strategy.
