Thinking about the broker notification, this could possibly be a precursor for a main market listing moving away from the frailties of AIM as Atalya Mining are doing today - once the copper is flowing strongly later in the year.

Thanks xow98.

So Colin highlighted what Bloomberg said, "BHP Bid for Anglo American Set to Unleash Wave of Mining M&A"

Does the pi who voted my post down know something I don't about the BHP JV that failed if so please post what you know.

The last I heard was in a webcast Colin & Leon answering a question about recovering the money BHP owes Jubilee, I'm sure they said they would not let BHP get away with not paying and they are getting their lawyers to recover the money but never heard anything about it again bar for someone I think a couple years later said Jubilee wrote it off in the accounts. So I can only presume their lawyers said it would be too costly to take on BHP in court.

Sorry h095117038, for some odd reason I didn't see the other posts.

BHP still owe JLP about $11m? from years ago when they pulled out of a JV. I think Jubilee wrote it off in the accounts a few years later but might be wrong.

Copper chart edging higher: $4.56/lb now. That's only about 7% or so away from its highest ever price.

h095117038, I think you have misread, it's the other way round:

From Alliance News: "Anglo American earlier on Thursday said it was reviewing a takeover tilt from BHP, which now has until May 22 to make a firm offer for Anglo American."

Note the word 'from'

Considering BHP has a market cap of £115Bn and Anglo £33Bn I think we can work out which way round the deal would be.
