The Procurement Bill:

Excellent news this week for the SME sector : ( inc Triad )

The Target date set in May last year will be archived, which is very refreshing for any department of the Uk Government :

Well done to that Government Department.

///////////

9th May 2024

The Procurement Bill, which will reform the existing Procurement Rules, received Royal Assent last year. You can view the new Procurement Act on the UK legislation website.
The Procurement Act will come into effect on Monday 28 October 2024.
The Government has published a series of guidance documents to cover all aspects of the Procurement Act 2023, with the aim of providing help with interpretation and understanding.
PSAA are aware of the changes and preparations for implementation of the new requirements are progressing well.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The sleepy city institutions have yet to cotton on to Triad, being just about the only premium listed, boutique, IT Computer Consultant and an SME.

Triad are working at full steam ahead, even before this new legislation comes into force.

The advantages for Triad are extensive, having 33 years plus of experience, but falling into the SME category.

Triad also wins, not only over the big players, but also those SME’S trying to gain a foothold, having the best of both worlds.

The real icing on the cake is the quality of Triads staff that the industry trusts from the word go.

A combination of the above will ensure organic growth is at pace, with revenues and ever increasing profits to follow. Thats going to be worth a premium PE Ratio as the companies efforts come to fruition now, and the fruits of that labour, show though in the next set of interim results in the third quarter, and there after.

bluemango And the e-gates at the boarder - another hack.. Both these news stories show the need for good quality software built in the UK by security cleared expert permanent staff based nearby to resolve all issues before they become an issue.

Could Triad be a potential beneficiary from any fallout from the hacking of SSCL's MOD payroll system?

Look at the accounts and see how the ratio of admin staff is actually improving in leaps and bounds.

The finance dept has seen an astonishing improvement.

Costs will rise , although staff across the sector are no longer holding the loaded gun demanding yet ever higher wages.

On the subject of staff, hire an extra 30 consultants and perhaps another member of staff to take care of their needs.

30 new staff might bring in £5M of revenues at average 47% gross margin, but produce a whopping net margin, far higher, than the existing staff, who are covering central costs in full.

Basically extra revenues translate into higher profits as the overhead is spread among more staff.

Sunshine: re: Central Costs.... Agreed.
Triad has got to a size now when it will need a professional personal department looking after the interest of individual staff. No longer will everyone know everyone else.... It will need a specialist department to make sure no one gets forgotten and people get rightly rewarded for superb work...
So i guess some costs will rise, but hopefully the economies of scale will counteract those costs. Touchwood...

FDM PLC tell us in their accounts the average gross margin is 46.87%

The better half within the sector achieve this kind of gross margin.

However, look deeper among the players, one soon realises most of this is eaten away in overheads ,leaving profits that are nothing to write home about.

More attention should in my view paid to what can be found in the Triad report and accounts.

Triads business model depends on enough revenues to cover central costs, the directors, and costs of the ongoing listing and so on.

Get past that hurdle, and it’s game on.

If TRD goes on to become a KNOS sized company over time, then today’s price is more than dirt cheap.

Triads valuation should be based on short term and long term prospects. The order book gives great comfort short term, longer term over 60 months requires one to take a view.

On the dividend, my money is on 4P this time and a big jump at the interim stage.

It’s an interesting one. The company has already flagged that the year just ended won’t be very good on the basic numbers as they have been recruiting heavily for all the future and new business and those costs will be incurred immediately.

Those results though should be accompanied by a bullish outlook from the Chairman.

I can see maybe a pullback at that time due to the bare numbers after a near nonstop 100% gain in share price since the last update in January. That could be an opportunity to top up perhaps.

I will also be interested to see the dividend. I think it might stay as is but it could increase depending on how quickly the new contracts are throwing off cash.

Market cap is close to £50M which is mightily impressive so they will need to fill that in with earnings prospects.

KNOS was until recently the darling of the computer IT sector. It stands in on a PE of 30. To justify that PE Ratio earnings should be growing at 30% a year. They are in fact forecast to grow at under half that rate this year.
I see Zero value in investing in that Billion pound market cap stock.

TRD in my view CAN grow revenues and earnings at 30% PA going forward.

I agree with netcurtains the trick is to find the next KNOS, before the institutions arrive and push up the forward PE ratio.

Triad can grow at real pace for at least the next 3 years, it’s all about the quality of those who work within the business. The staff are self driven , the teams they form produce results others can”t match . ( see industry awards ). This all helps improve client bonding, and just as importantly, margins.

The company runs a lean business model, one designed to increase profits rapidly as soon as revenues cover the general overhead.

Any stock will rocket in price if it can grow revenues and profits quickly, slap on large dividends , and the fun for shareholders gets into the higher gear range.

Some stocks anticipate future profits , others jump on the day good results are released.

As shareholders we don”t know the level of profits , but we do know at this stage, the published order book of large public sector contracts. Source : Contracts Finder.

That order book has increased from £3.2M this time last year to just short of £32M right now, after the last win 9 days ago.

That excludes any work won in the private sector over the period , and the large amount of smaller day to day awards.

Thanks s34icknote!
I was at one AGM a couple of years ago and chatting with the people there (As you do) - asking questions etc etc...
And I got the impression that the plan was to be a kind of KNOS but premier class...
I think one or two of the old directors knew the directors of KNOS back in the day when KNOS was just starting and thus know the ropes quite well.

Anyway with these growth stocks, KNOS, has a market cap 4 times its turnover...
I think TRD is still just below that but it is growing much faster (if the growth in staff numbers are a guide).... So, even though the price is high, there will be more growth to come.... There will be ups and downs (of course) but if we follow the journey I think triad still have a long way to travel (growth wise)....

It”s excellent news, as you rightly point out, it puts a cap on the industries wage bill.

However from Triads perspective is even better.

Triad only hire the best, and some of that cream is hitting the jobs market right now, just at the very time Triad is expanding at pace.

25% more staff are now employed than 6 months ago. Source : Triad LinkedIn page.

Thats a prospective growth rate of 50% P/A.

I can't think of any listed company in Triads space, that is growing at anything like that. In fact i would go so far, as to speculate, most have a hiring freeze, or growth rates of no higher than 10% at best.

Average, in today’s climate, is simply, just not good enough.

Are these layoffs by Google (and others) a worry for the software industry generally or is it only good news for Triad as it means wages will not go through the roof:

so basically all we can say is
a) its a huge amount...
b) either someone has sold to someone else and this amount is under 3%...
or
c) possibly a director moving SIPP from husband to wife (or other family member)...
d) No RNS which is weird-ish
e) Or there will be an RNS but there is no RNS as yet as this transaction is not complete.

Yes it could, but can be a move within a SIPP or from a husband to wife or vice versa.
