Malcy's comment

I am particularly pleased with this piece of news from Zephyr today as it does a number of things in one go. Firstly the well is drilling ahead according to plan, box ticked, secondly the debt swap for equity reveals real quality management at work.

At the time of the Williston acquisition the company needed some safe production to be the backbone of the company just in case anything went wrong with the E in E&P, even if it was an accidental well blowout. Debt came from SGRI to buy the production, it has done the trick and Zephyr live to fight another day.

With Zephyr now coming out of the process with a great deal of confidence, SGRI are exhibiting a real show of strength by slipping across the sofa and becoming a perfect cornerstone investor. With no discount for an effective raise and a stronger balance sheet as a result Zephyr are set fair which just leaves us the small matter of the Paradox…

arooster,

Thank you for the warm welcome. I appreciate that cash flow projections are not easy for everyone. Let’s look at the last interims as a starting point:

* Revenue down 44% to just $13.4m
* Loss after tax of $2.3m
* Zephyr started 2023 with $9.0m of cash and ended H1 with $6.2m of cash.
* However, this ignores that (a) Zephyr placed to raise funds in H1, and (b) Zephyr raised additional funds by drawing on its debt facilities
* Net debt at the start of the year was $16,397 (gross debt of $25,393k less cash of $8,996k) and at 30 June 2023 was $27,526 (gross debt of $33,714 less cash of $6,188)
* So net debt increased by $11,129k over H1 and additional equity (net) of £3,692 was raised in H1
* Hence Zephyr burnt cash of $14,821k ($11,129k + £3,692) in H1

Much of Zephyr’s additional cash burn in H1 was from having to stimulate and re-stimulate its various wells. This is shown as capital expense in the cash flow statement rather than being a line item in the P&L and is one of the reasons why most investors are surprised to learn how much cash Zephyr burns compared to the P&L that it reports.

Nothing has happened at Zephyr to change the core economics in H2 of 2023, ZPHR continues to burn cash. And that's why Zephyr is destined to do yet another placing in the near future to raise yet more cash!

In many respect Zephyr has a lot in common with Canadian Overseas Petroleum:

1. Poor assets that burn cash
2. Lots of debt to finance those assets
3. An over-promotional CEO who doesn't highlight 1 and 2 when he's bigging the company up, and
3. A retail shareholder base that doesn't understand 1 to 3.

None of the folk in ZPHR are saying lol , they aresaying lovely rerate.Clearly buyers are in for the main drill and todays RNS has added some spike. Most investors probably didn't realise about the Helium deal but now they do

Building sentiment is key to any stock and this is what I like about ZPHR over the last few weeks.Can also see a pattern in the churn , nice to seea break of 4p. Results are one thing but sentiment will keep folk investigating and it seems to be coming back after a long time. Hopefully the stock will hold and investors will stay interested.

I think it's always been when and not if for success here. Last year proved Paradox is not easy to unlock but it also showed the prize is likely to be huge. All the work done so far and the choice of drill team is the key that will begin to unlock it, in my opinion.
We need a good, solid success, which I truly believe will happen, and this will go into double figures. The oil is there, the high pressure will be there, but the faulty equipment will be absent along with the surprise element. The discovery has already been made. CoS has to be over 90%, roll on the drill and good luck to all long term investors.

RNS .... webinar
