Posted at 23/6/2023 12:22 by rapier686 Wishing the company goes to hell because you don't like the political/social views of the COO is rather extreme.Yes it was foolish and wrong for him to express them in his COO capacity. And I have emailed investor relations to remind them they're a business not a campaign group. But this whole boycott a company because someone there had a bit too much lattitude and put a float in a parade or ran their mouth off is just as ridiculous on the other side of the coin. And being ridiculous it'll pass when a few showoffs have been seen to throw their toys out of the pram. |
Posted at 23/6/2023 08:36 by creditcrunchies I'm gonna complain to investor relations about this COO he's destroyed the business |
Posted at 20/6/2023 09:18 by creditcrunchies Good time to contact investor relations advice the board of directors to focus on business please and do something positive to boost the share price and make the business one open to investors. I think this COO needs to be pushed he's generating too much divisive negative news which has created a boycott |
Posted at 18/6/2023 08:51 by creditcrunchies When the profit warning roll in they'll struggle to pay their dividends I think investors have two choices dump the stock or get the COO removed from the company. Personally I liked shopping at Wickes the probelm they have got is they are just a DIY store, everything they sell you can buy at B&Q, Homebase, Screwfix, Toolstation etc or just order it online. The only reason to go to Wickes will be on price, ease of parking (which will get even easier now), or locality. |
Posted at 16/6/2023 17:20 by richpassi Well I wanted a new kitchen sink and taps , got the last one's from Wickes .......guess I won't be going back there again! Live and let live but extract the urine out of your customer base and pay the consequences. Gerald Ratner was a lesson to learn. Feel sorry for investors:( |
Posted at 24/3/2023 00:39 by philanderer Investors Chronicle:Wickes hit by inflationary effects There is a mixed outlook across the business as inflation persists Management said that, although some DIY activities were brought forward during early phases of the pandemic, some larger projects linked to trade and DIFM channels may have been deferred. Ultimately, however, the appetite for home improvements will be suppressed by inflationary effects, which will also eat into margins. Wickes’ hefty leasehold obligation also stands as a bear point, although, on balance, we think that a forward rating of six times consensus earnings and a prospective yield of 5.8 per cent mean the medium-term risks to profitability are overstated. Posted at 05/1/2023 09:55 by spawny100 I'm liking this share. Good solid rise from when I bought in around £1.20 so locked in a very decent dividend yield. I know there are big investors like Baron who were saying this was cheap at £2. |
Posted at 13/12/2022 23:16 by creditcrunchies A surprise 250p bid on Wickes could actually happen this is a perfect market for those that want quality DIY product, competitive pricing, UK wide retail coverage, good customer service, rising dividends for investors, meeting expectations in very tough economic climate. |
Posted at 21/10/2022 11:09 by careful I am more interested in trading updates and results these days.Market valuations are not related to value anymore. Happy to hold here on a very low pe. This company is not in any sort of trouble despite the share price collapse. There is something technical going on that distorts prices. A FTSE 250 tracker such as MIDD falls sharply because of disillusioned investors withdrawing their cash. This has been billions this year according to reports. Underlying assets have to be sold to meet redemption. Some Property funds are illiquid and refuse to pay investors their cash. These created bombed out shares even when the underlying investment case is sound. If we are desperate for cash as individuals we are only able to sell the good stuff such as gold, cars or valuable watches. The junk gets left on the shelf. |
