Even after a strong rise these shares are still only trading on a forward pe of no more than seven at the most...

I beg anyone to try to find an equivalent fast growing company on a multiple this low anywhere in the market....

Going back to:

advising on technology strategy for England's highways

Its worth noting that the worlds biggest road engineering company is based in EPSOM. Triad is based in GODALMING - just down the "road".

You as an SMALL INVESTOR have a few grand you can put money into one or the other. You have to compare or otherwise how do you invest?????? But moving on from that...

Take this from their statement:
securing UK's borders, advising on technology strategy for England's highways

With Brexit we all know "securing UKs borders" is a big thing to be in on...
But the other part of the sentence is more interesting.

When you're stuck on the M25 or whatnot many of us now use google (or another app) to find better or quicker routes... The challenge for IT is to tie google analytics (and others) to the big road signs in Highways UK. The only way to get better analytics is if the ROADS themselves had monitors that enabled drivers to quickly make better decisions. With google or other systems there needs to be a weight of already stuck cars before it changes routes. This is no good for the stuck drivers. There needs to be more advance warnings via road monitors.. Triad are in this exciting new tech.

Look at triad's gross profit for last year, even if they did not get more profit next year but instead decreased costs (perhaps less contractors and more permanent staff) they could double their net profit.

Why is a software company being compared to an etailer?????
Different dynamics ie sector - opportunities - competitive pressures - p/e treatment etc etc etc.

How do you compare BooHoo to Triad PLC?
=======================================
It is an interesting point as small investors have to make these decisions every day. You could go down the route of trying to be a "specialist" in IT or Teenage Fashion or web sites or graph shapes or tip following. At least three of those things mean Triad and BooHoo over lap.

Disadvantages of BooHoo:
Teenage fashion can turn on a sixpence, here today, gone tomorrow. In favour includes "favourite shopping apps". In a sense, BooHoo is a one trick pony.

Advantages of BooHoo:
It has an army of small investors so its very easy to buy big or small and not affect the price too much. Triad is very sensitive to any big buys or sells and thus hard to be a "big investor" - about £10K at a time seems to be the max. BooHoo being a "one trick pony" (teenage fashion) makes it easy to see if its on trend or losing popularity - its relatively easy - providing you have a teenage or twenty something daughter. Recession makes cheap clothing more popular.

The advantages of Triad:
Its growing fast, both turnover and profit, its customer base is expanding and its costs are falling (less contractors, more permanent staff). Triad, if it wanted to, could develop a BooHoo web site in a about 3 months, buy a couple of containers of clothes from China, and be open for business. It would not be a "BooHoo" but it would share the same market space. The future is in IT because IT holds the levers power in the 21st century - look at it this way, driverless cars - its IT companies that are pushing the boundaries not car companies. In retail it will be IT developers who take it to the next level - the First Class Honours grads are going into IT not retail. There is a reason for this.

I think you're right spooky. Those who are still determining whether to relax and wait should consult the chart and news history of Styles and Wood. It's a quite comparable small cap story of recent times, although in a different sector. Those already holding or buying as STY's profit upswing kicked in - when the shares were 60p or so - and then showing patience have done nicely.

I still don't think that people appreciate the full story here, there is going to be a quantum shift in margins over time. Add in revenue growth and you have a recipe for consistent upside surprises. (Bit of artistic licence with the phrase 'quantum shift' :-o)

I would have thought forward EPS of 10p but cannot see market allowing its PER to rise above 9 until it delivers but that still means its share price should reach c90p before Final results.

Unfortunately, I thought it might disappoint with these interims so sold out a few weeks back @ 51.25p...doh!! Have now placed an order to Buy a few @ 63p.
