It doesn't take a lot of work to figure out that this years interims are likely to be a lot stronger than last year IMO.

Worth highlighting the last outlook statement again.

Further to the progress achieved during the year we have started the new financial year with a strong order book and healthy pipeline of opportunities. Underpinning the Group's success will be our ability to develop new and existing accounts and deliver successful outcomes for our clients.

In order to capitalise on the opportunities being developed efforts to strengthen our business model continue. A key aspect is the need to increase the headcount across the business.

TRD tend not to issue trading updates, so we will have to be patient and await the interim result due towards the end of November. But reading the tone of the statement and what seems like a good start to the year, then as long as this strength has continued I would think that the results should be rather good. TRD are a UK focussed company, and economic data since the referendum has been good for the UK, so chances of TRD benefiting also must be good.

I know that the headline EPS figure in the last full year was 8.01p, which was inflated due to a tax credit gain of £0.350m. Even if this figure was deducted and a 21% tax charge was used, TRD would still have made an EPS figure of 4.34p, a good yardstick to use against future underlying performance.

Yet with a unrealised tax loss of £1.081m, it will be a while until TRD are paying any tax.

There should be an increase in headcount this year so that they can take advantage of new opportunities, but total headcount is only 52 at present, so even a modest increase by 15%? would only increase headcount by 8, so not a major increase in costs imo. Have a feeling that a robust performance will more than make up for any increased costs from recruitment.

Market cap = £7.44m, Headline PBT = £0.863m, Cash = £0.955m, Borrowings negligible, Outlook statement = upbeat, Unrealised tax losses of £1.081. Headline PE = 6.13

A rather nice combination imv.

long long overdue. Bodes well this consolidation phase as it only makes the next leg up even stronger.

Now that seller(s) are out.

the buys in the run up to results out weigh the sells.
I hope this means "someone" knows something is at least as good as last time...
£1M profit on £1M profit is pretty good for a company only valued at £7.5M - LOL!
