08/7/2004 07:29 | RNS Number:6223A TBI PLC 08 July 2004 TBI PLC ("TBI" or "the Group") Q1 Traffic Statistics TBI's four European airports* handled a total of 3.83 million passengers during the period from 1 April to 30 June 2004, an increase of 5.8% over the corresponding period last year (2003: 3.62 million). Growth was seen across all three passenger groups driven primarily by the low cost sector which saw traffic increase by 7.7% to 2.8 million passengers (2003: 2.60 million). The full service segment saw an increase of 4.2% to 230,800 passengers boosted by an 11.2% increase at Cardiff. Charter was stable at 793,384 passengers. On an airport-by-airport basis, the picture was slightly more variable. Luton saw a 4.8% increase in total traffic to 1.86m driven by a 6.4% increase in low-cost and a 3.4% increase in full-service. Belfast has had an impressive start to the year with passenger numbers up 8.9% driven by strong growth in both the low-cost and charter segments, rising 9.8% and 6.9% respectively. In contrast, Cardiff saw declines in both low-cost, down 9.6%, and charter, down 3.2%, but a 11.2% increase in full service as a result of a strong performance from KLM's service to Amsterdam. Stockholm Skavsta again saw the greatest growth of 21.35% as it continues to benefit from the growth of Ryanair's operations but also through the addition of new services by Basiq Air which commenced in February 2004. * London Luton, Belfast International, Cardiff International and Stockholm-Skavsta 8 July 2004 Enquiries: TBI plc Tel: 020 7408 7300 Keith Brooks, Chief Executive Caroline Price, Finance Director College Hill Tel: 020 7457 2020 Justine Warren APPENDIX TBI Traffic Summary: Pax Numbers 1 April - 30 June 2004 (000's) Luton Belfast Cardiff Skavsta Total Full service 188.0 1.0 41.8 0.0 230.8 3.41% -52.38% 11.17% na 4.20% Low cost 1437.8 830.8 192.4 343.1 2804.1 6.42% 9.79% -9.63% 20.79% 7.66% Charter 236.8 272.3 282.7 1.584 793.384 -3.11% 6.95% -3.22% na 0.29% Total 1862.6 1104.1 516.9 344.7 3828.3 4.81% 8.95% -4.74% 21.35% 5.83% Pax numbers 1 April - 30 June 2003 (000's) Luton Belfast Cardiff Skavsta Total Full service 181.8 2.1 37.6 0.0 221.5 Low cost 1351.0 756.7 212.9 284.0 2604.6 Charter 244.4 254.6 292.1 0.0 791.1 Total 1777.2 1013.4 542.6 284.0 3617.1 This information is provided by RNS The company news service from the London Stock Exchange END MSCUUUGUMUPCUMR TBI(TBI) | waldron
07/7/2004 14:25 | LONDON (AFX) - A consultation has started on how to guarantee a minimum level of regional air services within the UK as airports become more congested, said the Department of Transport (DoT). The government last year said in its Future of Air Transport White Paper it would consider imposing Public Service Obligations (PSOs) in certain limited circumstances. This would guarantee a minimum level of air services on existing routes from UK regional airports to London and would allow landing and take off slots at congested London airports to be ring-fenced for those services. There are currently 17 routes from UK regions to London airports and the government said it had no evidence any were about to be withdrawn. "However the pressure on slots is likely to increase in future years and it is possible that more regional services out of London might be threatened," the DoT said. The airports affected are BAA PLC's Heathrow, Stansted and Gawtick, TBI PLC's Luton and London City, owned by Irish businessman Dermot Desmond. fp/ra | maywillow

28/6/2004 09:30 | Logged on this morning and Ample showing TBI's price at 21.47 - I nearly had a heart attack. Checked on ADVFN and was relieved to see 66.5! Ample's website producing quality reliable information then! Dan | danny_boffin
24/6/2004 13:11 | Market Report,Daily Mail, today says..."Luton airport owner and operator TBI flew higher 3p to 681/4 after beady eyed dealers noted that a consortium of private equity players led by J O Hambro Capital had bought 23.3m shares,or 4.2pc. It revived hopes of a management buy out. Chief Exec Keith Brooks has always rubbished the idea but you never know. French group Vinci still sits on 14.9pc of TBI.German airport group Hochtef abandoned plans for a possible takeover in January" | wynmck

23/6/2004 14:23 | Hang on, what is 85p? Are we talking about Brussels airport or back to TBI now? And is Stan Thomas the 'tank engine'? Ah, you cryptic talking lot. | danny_boffin
23/6/2004 11:49 | i couldn't possibly comment, and trains are good places to find out interesting facts and figures | fur
23/6/2004 11:46 | Rise in both TBI's share price and turnover suggest the market thinks something is on the cards. 85p - is your source reliable Fur? | curryms
23/6/2004 11:00 | I understand it is 85 p per share with the tank engine retaining a stake in the new vehicle. | fur
20/6/2004 15:56 | Might explain the rise in turnover. Breakup value north of 90p - interesting. Anythung above 75p will do me. | curryms
20/6/2004 06:26 | Takeover Rumours in the Air,again. According to this mornings Sunday Times. | waldron
18/6/2004 09:31 | Maestro. These are not a good set of results! I hold a shedfull of these shares so dont try to blag up results as good when they are clearly not.I believe they will get taken over eventually,But not at the 90p+ level i had previously hoped for.I agree with the previous poster that after these results 75p looks realistic. | blowson2000
16/6/2004 22:01 | Déjà vu TBI's shares slumped after the last set of poor results to be followed by a sharp rise in turnover - somebody leaked that HOCHTIEF and their advisors were provisionally assessing TBI. 10 mil turnover is well above the norm - can't be down to TBI's normal business prospect under the current management! (brokers would have more success selling ice to Eskimos) I can't find any thing to explain today's turnover perhaps we will hear tomorrow. | curryms |
