24/11/2007 01:55 | Only available till April Smelly - bought some here got nothing free OR a TEO BSHGNF! Maybe the new Tech Ora partnership will see our TEO at a discount to tomorrows value! Hope has that slight perception of reality! LOL! | fireball xl5
23/11/2007 17:49 | How's the tapered relief the great Mr T, LOLsss. Always wise after the event eh? Shame you never seem to apply your expert analysis to your investment decisions, like this one for example, LOLsss Redd... On the evoq we agree completely, on MA you are just sore bitter with clouded judgement. Novice, hope you acted as a priority and stayed? LOLssss | qsmelly456
23/11/2007 12:19 | Is Zamcu SA or Zambia - is it not more difficult for the Zambians, it may benefit them? | fireball xl5
23/11/2007 11:10 | Fireball XL5, "Maybe the Directors of Zamcu will be buying in a slice a TEO or even receiving fees offshore from TEO for services. Could be a way of getting some dosh out of Zambia?" As I understand it, the output is simply transported across land to South Africa and sold there...and getting dosh out of SA is easy! regards T.. | tradx666
23/11/2007 10:57 | As I understand it as well Mr T! This looks like they are using the lack of extraction cash available and tying up a secure sales channel for Zamcu so that operations can be run on a cash managed basis. This channel based on margin should aollow us to generate cash. The 60/40 surely demonstrates Zamcu's faith in this model along with the 300k unsecured loan. Mr A being well versed in trading ops should be able to work this on a very low cost base with minimal risk if dealing in LC's etc. Maybe the Directors of Zamcu will be buying in a slice a TEO or even receiving fees offshore from TEO for services. Could be a way of getting some dosh out of Zambia? | fireball xl5
23/11/2007 10:27 | Notready> No worries at all.....I understand what you did and why you did it.... we're all grown ups here ...err well most of us!! Hope you will profit from your decision....once these things are done, better to not look back!! I don't enjoy seeing anyone lose money! (apart from some of these deramping shorting numptys we have to live with on these threads) :-) | j bravo esq
23/11/2007 09:33 | Redd, Ref. Your post 29067 I'm happy to be corrected, but as I understand it this new direction does not actually correlate to 'commodity trading' in the sense that I suspect you and I would understand it (I do not believe that they are taking or placing any futures or options in respect of supply contracts)...so the requirement for 'good traders' is probably low, the requirement for a 'good salesman' is however, probably high - and is not necessary a skill that TEO has previously demonstrated in abundance! Generally, I expect this relatively small amount of metals be based on fixed price contracts, based on cost + margin sales, and all 'ex-works', so shipping is actually a non-issue. As for 'backoffice' functions, on these sorts of volumes, this requirement could probably be met by using a few spreadsheets.. As I understand it, they are simply acting as the 'sales channel' for the aggregated output of Zamco, which holds a recovery licence from existing open-cast mines. I also agree with you in that until we actually know what the details are (yes, there I go again - looking at the gift horse and trying to qualify the teeth!), making any calculations on what financing they may or may not require is almost impossible, it is also unclear at what stage downstream payments are made...so/until these details are crystal clear I remain sceptical about the prospects of this business. Regards T | tradx666
22/11/2007 22:03 | Yup, is that a mask or your real face? LOL | redd
22/11/2007 21:11 | Lookin in the mirror again redd!!! Lol!! | mr m
22/11/2007 20:15 | 8Trader, The incentive was provided by the need to increase my investment in two other opportunities, with (IMO) better short term prospects (or at least prospects I understand). I won't mention them for fear of upsetting JB but I am happy to be holding them, even if they are a bit volatile on the way up. I'm expecting big things. As for TEO, I sincerely hope the metal trading paves a way forward and I do thank Massoud Alikhani for not just giving up. Good luck. ;-) | notready
22/11/2007 16:12 | Notready. You must be really chuffed at getting out with such a big holding at such a good price, now within a week the mm's wont take a thing without a discount. Well done. | 8trader
22/11/2007 07:19 | Some comments about china and minerals...lols... Copper, which was led the metal markets with a spectacular surge last year, is suffering a crisis of confidence, he said, as Chinese imports began to slow. "The supercycle has a flat tyre," Mr Moore said, referring to a theory promoted by some analysts and mining groups which suggested that extraordinary demand from China and India would sustain continued long-term growth and prevent the traditional boom and bust cycle of the mining industry. "China is not the tooth fairy that can absorb all the ore." "interesting" time to join this market as a startup? | takeiteasy
21/11/2007 21:05 | they started at £80 then down to £59 then down to £42 then down to £24.... I wonder what the profit margin would like at £24...lols.. would a 20% holding even if it was held be up to much? what is easier watching the share price movemements here or those of Mr carson and the england players? | takeiteasy
21/11/2007 21:01 | Redd You are no fool, why waste your energy and talents on malice? In the end it only damages....... you. | stav5001
21/11/2007 19:40 | Mark, once again you show how little you know "FOB (Fee on board)"! It actually means 'Free on Board' (I have a copy of Incoterms). Do you even know what terms TEO will trade on? Then to assume that the first shipment is 'on the water' also shows your lack of knowledge of commodity trading. It is not so simple as that as I doubt they have set up the back office functions yet to support it. If you did understand this type of business you would also understand how important this is. Then they need some good traders. No good looking for them here amongst the TEO hopefulls;-) | redd
21/11/2007 19:14 | PS !Damned right we would :0) x | mark30
21/11/2007 19:13 | "Season of good will" !! he doesnt know the meaning of the word / event LOL tut tut ! Suppose I should give him (it) the benefit of doubt. I wont hold my breath tho LOL Nite bonny girl x | mark30
21/11/2007 19:10 | Mark.. agree entirely with the sentiments of you and JB. First guaranteed income is top of my wish list.. well next to the carats! Am sure both of you will find it in your wallets to treat me when the 'ship' comes in!! x | ladymd
21/11/2007 18:59 | Redd.. have to agree with you re the visual presentation, in fact I mentioned this in passing to another shareholder only the other day. However, hmm to the good product/good business remark. Imo both ingredients are essential and the astute regular supporters who post on this thread DO recognise this.. tis the season of good will etc looming, best we agree to differ in our opinions! I'm sure one or two will not be charitable enough though to let your remark pass without comment ;-))) | ladymd
21/11/2007 18:48 | ladyMD LOL Silly me ! I walked straight into that one! "Best all year round pressie's" Mrs M30 would say JUST the same. (And does lol) Glad to hear "Business is exceptionally busy" hope the weather stays kind to your lads if it's outside stuff. MA? Hmmm Well - with the results due, what better time to expand on this new venture we find ourselves in. I'm assuming the first 'shipment' is on the water, as JB points out, letters of credit are the usual way of guaranteeing the FOB (Fee on board) ergo, we could be just a few weeks away from our first guaranteed incomes. What a Christmas present THAT would be. Be good (ish) Mark x | mark30 |
