21/11/2007 17:29 | ladyMD, thanks for the offer but as others here know, I did consider the Evoq earlier this year but finally bought a Jabra BT135 (13gms, 170hrs standby, 8hrs talk time and only £20:-)). Btw, you have to distinguish between a good product and a good business. Something that the TEO fan club here fail to understand;-) Having said that, I'm still not convinced that the Evoq is so great but if they had made it smaller, lighter and with a longer battery life I may have bought one. As it is, it looks cumbersome, is too heavy and the noise reduction is not a 'killer' usp. | redd
21/11/2007 17:11 | Results next then - hopefully delivered prior to that xmas date as promised LOL! | fireball xl5
21/11/2007 16:09 | An Evoq;-) | redd
21/11/2007 15:45 | To be fair ladyMD most women are 'directors' I know mine is LOL Hope business is doing well and you have time to pop out to get him-indoors his pressie.Hopefully MA will deliver OURS :0) | mark30
21/11/2007 15:28 | Redd..I'm the most cheerful of leaders you'll ever meet! Trust me.. I'm a Director ;-) | ladymd
21/11/2007 14:26 | ladyMD, you should know better! Directors of a company are always the biggest cheerleaders! I note that MA was also bullish as the share price slid lower and lower;-) | redd
21/11/2007 14:12 | MA's latest actions encompassed by my recent conversation with him has regenerated my belief that he is acting in the best interests of TEO shareholders. I'm rarely persauded by words alone especially when eloquently used.. but MA did come across in genuine fashion with his forthright answers. Neither am I doing an NR of the past and seemingly fighting his corner whatever.. am simply posting as I find. For those inclined to scoff..try picking up the phone and talking to him yourself! ;-) JB.. my sentiments exactly re living with losses as long as etc. btw: all of us women are risk meistress in one form or another ;-))) | ladymd
21/11/2007 13:21 | I think MA has done the hon thing. Perhaps he was also aware of the impact on the other 2 where credibility suffered. CAPE to rise as the Phoenix first IMHO! | fireball xl5
21/11/2007 12:43 | redd> not now!! mark> NR does seem to favour these all or nothing scenarios..... ...yes she is a bit of a risk meistress!! i think she is well meaning and is not easily dissuaded! don't really blame her for selling when she did!! MA's recent actions have brought him right up in my estimations..... would be really great if does manage to turn this round!! maybe NR will yet live to regret the day she bailed out of TEO and added to PRM and that other one she was always going on about!! ....only time will tell!! | j bravo esq
21/11/2007 12:08 | wcj> lols!! ..i'm all for anything that makes me feel better!! redd> not now!! mark> i'm hoping my thoughts re MA are correct, i'm not that naive to think he has done it all purely out of the goodness of his heart!!....so where does that leave us? the only reasons i can see MA doing what he has done are for making a return on his cash and preserving his credibility with the TEO shareholders. even if this new plan fails....i will not be condemming the man as he is trying to do what he can to get this back up off the ground! we all knew the risks or should have, i have no problems in living with losses as long as i know people have not deliberately shafted me and have tried their best to make things work. see your pal is never far away when you post.....he must sit at his screen all day waiting for his mark30 alert to go off!! tradxxx> we live in hope because without it life would be pretty dull!! ...and you're right.....keep smiling! | j bravo esq
21/11/2007 11:45 | Talking of dodgy......morning Redd...... | barts
21/11/2007 11:31 | "There's nowt as strange as folk!" Yet again the profits are being banked before there is even a proper glimpse of them! The seeds are now being sown for another disappointment. But not to worry, it's good to live in perpetual hope even if you keep losing money;-) My 'theory' is that there are too many mug investors that are easily led and exploited by dodgy BB posters!! | redd
21/11/2007 11:07 | "we live to fight another day" Indeed we do Trad and if JB's theory is correct it's an admirable thing MA has done (financially) in order to support shareholders. If he could find time to keep them updated (via the web site) that 'support' would be returned 10 fold....If you get my drift. | mark30
21/11/2007 10:59 | JB, I have to be honest and say that I was almost looking forward to the normally ominous and inevitable final sounding 'we are reviewing strategic financing options' RNS!,...so, as you can gather, mentally I had written this off some time ago, as it is, we live to fight another day! Anyway, the conditions exist for 'the management' to positively surprise us once more - let's hope they do..LOL! Keep smiling.. T.. | tradx666
21/11/2007 09:21 | Yes, but it makes you feel better. | wcj
21/11/2007 09:21 | wcj> i think you will find 20% of sweet fa ='s sweet fa!!! | j bravo esq
21/11/2007 09:19 | tradxxx. would not dispute any of that.....the key to getting the tech side of things going is most definitley new management.....if this is where all the money from the metals side will go then fine! i think it goes without saying where we are now is very high risk but if like me you had already written off your original investment then anything from here is just a bonus! I happen to think though that MA is determined we will not be losing our cash. we need a bit of luck on the metals side but if MA can get it right there is serious money to be made from it. | j bravo esq
21/11/2007 09:19 | Regarding Qstik, I thought that we owned 20% of the company. ? | wcj
21/11/2007 09:01 | JB, A few random thoughts having now had a chance to digest this 'deal'! I can see the attraction in believing that metal sales will generate significant cash-flow and transform the performance of this business, but we should all realise that it is also a business fraught with risk, i.e. financing metals and holding stock (even in a raising market it can quickly turn against you just witness what is happening with finance costs) - much may depend on the experience of those executing the transactions, and what they exact terms are (I have been unable to identify who this would be - does anyone else know?). I have several friends who over the years have had seats on the exchange, and made and lost significant fortunes...I am not saying this is the same scenario, but the conditions to do so certainly exist. As for the core of the business we originally invested in there can surely be little confidence left that 'the management' have a meaningful strategy to exploit it. I have now for 'years' pushed for known performers in this sector to be headhunted and heavily incentivised to go do what they do best, but as we all know to no avail. When you buy into micro-caps, you buy into the management and its senior staff. Well, generally the performance of its 'sales and marketing' (I use the term loosely!) staff, couldn't have been much worse if they tried, and the lack of attention to detail and exploitation in the deals they did do, have (as I suggested they might) come home to haunt us. So whilst I can see that there is a bent towards being deal-makers, I'm afraid the chances of them rebuilding and exploiting what we originally invested in as being pretty slim and the best thing they can do now is to sell the IP for whatever they can get for it....., Anyway, best of luck, perhaps that 3p target may not be so far away...LOL! regards T.. | tradx666 |
