Poundland and now Arm Holdings.

So much for Brexit scares.

Hasn't scared off Softbank or Steinhoff from taking over UK Companies.

In fact , the reverse is true. It has stimulated takeover activity in UK M&A by overseas suitors by making sterling so very much cheaper.

John Malone's recent interview on Bloomberg/Washington Post makes very interesting listening in this respect.

Share went xd today to the tune of 10.58pence.

Share closed down less than that at -9.1p.

On balance the share closed in net positive territory of approx 1.5p.

Pay date 3rd. August.

At a share price of 208p and a total dividend for year 15/16 of 15.87p, the share now has a historic yield of 7.63%.

When TalkTalk released their FY results in May and announced the increased final dividend, they also said "We expect the FY17 dividend to be at least in line with that of FY16 and covered by free cash flow".

They have not disappointed on their dividend expectations and forecasts in the past. Nor do I expect TalkTalk to disappoint in the coming year.

Ex-dividend today.

Yesterday Deutsche Bank "initiated" coverage according to some reports with a "BUY" rating and 300p target.

On the other hand if you look at the news items at the bottom of the linked page it appears that as recently as 27th June they were covering it and reduced their target from 245p to 200p. So perhaps just a change of analyst covering the stock for DB.

Article in today's Times suggesting that one effect of Brexit is the EU keeping its big nose out of telecoms industry desire to see the break up of BT.

The CURIOUS 3000 job deal just cancelled by Richard Branson after the surprise Brexit refo result.

QUOTE/UNQUOTE - Richard Branson

" WE WERE ABOUT TO DO A VERY BIG DEAL"

" WE CANCELLED THAT DEAL. THAT WOULD HAVE INVOLVED 3000 JOBS"

Whilst I am not suggesting in any way that the mystery Branson deal had anything of any nature to do with TalkTalk, I would be very intrigued to know what the mystery deal was.

Major shareholders.

The annual report confirms the suggestion from the Morningstar data that Invesco has increased its position significantly over the last year. Top shareholders are listed in the annual report as holding as of 15th April 2016:

30.77% Sir Charles Dunstone
14.25% Capital Research Global Investors
12.16% David Ross
11.73% Invesco Asset Management Limited
4.87% Alken Asset Management LLP
3.09% Jupiter Asset Management Ltd

So 69% held by just the top 4 shareholders (plus a bit more held by the Employee Share Ownership Trust). Herein lies the risk (in my opinion) for shorters. If those 4 shareholders decide not to sell, then it's a relatively small pool of shares available if there is a rush by shorters to close on some news.

‘Part of the problem was his unworldliness. After a jar of honey fell and broke on the kitchen floor, he grabbed a brush and pan to clear up the mess. On another occasion, when water came pouring through a living-room ceiling from a bathroom above, Blair was found standing by the bathtub, without having turned off the taps or pulled the plug, using Virgin radio mugs to shift water from the bath into the nearby basin.’ From Broken Vows by Tom Bower.
And Blair advises we stay in the EU. Is he credible, this person who took us to war, causing chaos, madness, and death? He got it wrong. Also Cameron now wants to bring mayhem to the streets of Britain by allowing 12million Turks to come here. Cameron the bringer of The River of Blood to the British Streets. Vote OUT of the EU. These leaders are not thinking of the people. The People have become mere commodities. VOTE out of the EU

Shame we have dropped below the 240 mark, but in line with a general market mark down. At these level a 10% profit is easily acheived. I,m buying at thes elevels and will hold until I get my 10%.

My main concern is paying for the divi whilst they have high debts, in a couple of yrs that shouldn't be a problem as high cash flow and they are looking to reduce debt but the model is higher risk because of the high divi, i would have preferred a lower divi and less debts.

Excellent article in today's FT by the outstanding Daniel Thomas about the Telecoms/Mobile landscape in the UK after the collapse of the Three-O2 deal.

I can but agree.

Looks like M&A will be a feature of the UK Telecoms landscape going forward as the smaller players need to bulk up to compete against resurgent BT.

Thanks 1gw. there seems to be good support at 240.

Not too long 'till divi day.

Despite the share price dropping slightly below sma support, we are still set up for the golden cross.

When the sma's are close together, it is easy for the share price to push through.
