Which companies do you invest in xxxx which can't sink and where you can't lose everything if they do?

Just a scaremongering generic statement applying to every listed company.

I'm all for listening to the downsides of companies, but shorters basically saying nothing about the company and simply using scare tactics is just silly imv and not really what these boards should be about.

Just a terrible company, but a gambler's opportunity. Good luck for those that take a punt, but remember it may sink and all is lost.

Qp, sorry you still have your downvote stalking tactic for my every post even though I've been away for a week - I guess these mental afflictions must be hard to shake off, but keep trying, I'm sure you'll succeed in the end. I have a suggestion for you regarding your censors 'talk talk talk talk' thread. Would it not be appropriate to rename it the 'listen listen listen listen' thread to reflect your censorship of it and its contents?

I'm sure you're a stickler for correct formal English, so perhaps you should correct your premier telecoms reporter of utmost proberty and sharp but objective insight as 'Thompsons' article' and not the just tolerated after wide incorrect misuse 'Thompsons's article' .

I must say I find your posts have changed from bullish to bearish and now back to bullish as if your opinion on the company has changed with its differing circumstances. From your wild insane reactions as I have done exactly the same may I ask if you will now be downvoting your own every post on every board so along with mine?

Regarding talktalk's share price, imv the recent stabilising of the price fluctuating within more normal bounds is the require basis for a revaluation to pre-hack levels as the hack becomes a distant memory. Churn will be low due to generous zero marginal cost offers to existing customers - certainly the best value for me, now on a new 18 month contract.

Following on from Daniel Thomas's article yesterday on the Vodafone/Liberty Global talks, another piece of the jigsaw puzzle is that John Malone recently decided to split his Company into three separate tracking stocks, likely to take effect in 2016.

Also, in an interview on 12th. November talking about the earlier Vodafone merger, John Malone says :- " It could come back ....sure".

The problem seems primarily to have been the price.

With Liberty recapitalising into three stocks and Vodafone on the uptick, the price dynamic is becoming perhaps much more reconcilable.

Herewith the John Malone interview ( titled, Malone:Liberty Global couldn't agree on price with Vodafone).

Looks like media consolidation looms. And that in my view may or may not mean that that TalkTalk once again becomes a candidate within the sector.

Perhaps Daniel Thomas can interview John Malone.

That article looks like a good argument for separating out Openreach, which I guess would be positive for talktalk.

A lot of those will be commercial office property. The domestic property will be at the high end due to location and too expensive for almost everyone. A non story.

SCANDAL.......breaking news.....

The Crown Estate is sitting on over £800m worth of empty properties in London alone, a City A.M. investigation reveals in an exclusive from the publication today..

The monarchy’s portfolio of property and land includes 312 vacant properties in the Greater London area, according to a Freedom of Information request, ranging from rooms on Regent Street and other prime central London locations to garages and commercial space.

It is hardly 'trying to rig the election'. He may be doing it because Goldsmith is opposed to Heathrow, but that is not rigging it. You shouldn't take any notice if that idiot Mike Sivier

whether the story above is true i don't much care, but i think ZG will make a very good mayor with the added advantage of charisma - as did/does KL and BJ

Heathrow expansion decision delayed – to rig London Mayoral vote?

This is clear evidence that David Cameron is trying to rig the London Mayoral elections.

David Cameron has been accused of letting down British exporters and ducking and diving for political convenience by planning to delay a final decision on whether to press ahead with the expansion of Heathrow airport.
No 10 said there would be a clear decision this week, but declined to say whether this would be the final choice to go ahead.
Faced with the possible resignation of Zac Goldsmith, the MP and Conservative candidate for London mayor who opposes Heathrow’s expansion, Cameron appears to have decided to defer a final irreversible decision until after next May’s mayoral elections.

Market speculation that Orange of France is in early discussions to buy part of Bouygues.

European telecoms M&A would appear still to have legs.

An interesting Bloomberg report and video:

What do you expect a security company say ... that there are no security issues in your systems? That's great for future business isn't it, not to mention the suing which would go on should another security breach happen (which it will of course, not just to tt but to every company). It's a bit like asking a private plastic surgeon whether you have a perfect nose or not.

In time the valuation will return to previous values adjusted for the £35m hack cost, counteracted by the increasing divi. My own view (based on not much data I must admit) is that customer numbers will be up on pre hack levels, both due to the recent deals on offer and the freebies they are giving out for the hassle and worry some have felt. The revenue from those will increase in six months and then again in a year.

Probably not even 700 let alone 70,000. Much like his vacuous claim to head the OUT campaign if he doesn't get his demands from the EU. Absolute tosh. Cameron is a born liar.
