Precisely.

Dunstone has grown his formidable empire through acquisition and merger.

He is unlikely to be against so doing again.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

As a mere retail purchaser of their product, they are reducing prices to retain customers.

I stay with them due to the price - foreign call centres are useless and they hide from you in the UK.
Taltalk tv is pointless and clunky. There are tech problems with Apple they can't be bothered to fix.
Ask your friends if they have left Talktalk - I seem to have quite a few that have but that's not scientific.

Barclays must be hoping for a takeover to get to that price.

Declared short positions.

Odey down again. Looking more and more like a decision to exit the short position, which I take as good news from the long perspective...

A well informed rely, thank you. I,m not one for long posts, so I keep things short, yes I think Talk is a buy at these levels, just think it may go lower into the 2.30's then I will be buying, I may miss out, but I can find plenty to invest in. But I'm holding a high % of cash in my SIPP as I think things may wobble as the vote gets closer so hoping for opps acoss the board.

Re Level 2 BATS is contantly looking for shares which is keeping the price from falling to much.

ps Take a look at copper for a medium term buy, just purchased a load via etf's as I think China is controlling the market and eventually the price will fly. Currently 2.04 reckon 10% -15% is easily obtainable this year.

Well the company's argument is that they've been investing a lot in their simplification program, rationalising the mish-mash of systems they've inherited through their history of acquisition-fuelled growth. Now that that is past its peak (in particular, the period of "double-running" is winding down where they had to keep old system and new system running in parallel) then costs are coming out quite fast and that coupled with a return to growth should allow strong cash generation.

They want to tough it out and see it through to the other side without having to cut the dividend. They've guided to the dividend being covered by free cashflow in FY17 and to net debt at year end FY17 being similar to net debt at year end FY16 (so leverage lower as EBITDA is guided to increase significantly). But as some analysts have pointed out, they do have a recent history of missing expectations, so it's reasonable to be a bit sceptical.

Personally I thought the results presentation was good enough to take out quite a lot of execution risk, but apparently the market doesn't agree - or at least the market seems to think that the 270p-280p fully-valued that risk reduction. I'd like to see Odey's next move - whether they carry on reducing their short or start to increase it again.

I,m watching and getting tempted to start building a position, could have got 2.42 odd earlier today, I have level 2 to keep an eye on things. My target price was 2.40-2.42 to start buying, didn't expect to see the 2.40's so soon. But watching the share price think it may go lower as it's relentless.

My major worry is the high level of debt they have and still paying high dividends and even increased them is it financial suicide. why not just maintain divi and reduce the debt ?

All a bit disappointing shareprice-wise. Looks like the results weren't enough to cause panic among the shorters.

So well done canaries2, profit-taking was the right call. Are you coming back in now?
