18/3/2016 16:43 | 2.8m shares in the closing auction! | 1gw
17/3/2016 16:34 | Declared short position. Odey asset management down to 1.35% short yesterday. Now starting to look a bit more like a downward trend rather than trading around the 1.50% level. 1.81% 6th Jan 1.46% 26th Jan 1.51% 1st Feb 1.48% 3rd Feb 1.50% 17th Feb 1.44% 3rd March 1.35% 16th Mar | 1gw
15/3/2016 18:41 | An article for anyone who might think that Talktalk is the only telecoms company with major customer service issues... "BT Openreach misses 1,000 appointments a week as Patterson defends record to MPs" "The executives faced claims that 60pc of Openreach broadband installations go wrong the first time around - a statistic attributed to a senior source at BT." | 1gw
15/3/2016 10:02 | Never a dull moment in UK telecoms land. Virgin Media (owned by Liberty Global) now reported in the press as considering wanting to become a MNO - Mobile Network Operator - with its own infrastructure/masts rather than renting mast bandwidth from other operators. My own personal view is that a full combination of Liberty + Voda would be a better option. A purely hypothetical tie-up of Liberty + Voda + TalkTalk would, in my opinion only, be the real killer combination of Media + Mobile + Fixed-line in the UK. The importance of TalkTalk's UK fixed-line infrastructure is not to be underestimated or undervalued in my opinion. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
14/3/2016 16:50 | don't you mean 250?? | rathlindri
12/3/2016 10:00 | Interesting comment and article: "TalkTalk is the most-shorted stock in the telecoms industry, and recently activist hedge funds have yielded several millions of pounds by profiting from falls in the troubled company's share price." Total short position = 4.25% for the squeaky bum merchants: The largest on the list (at 2.29%) Eminence who took out a short position on 29/12/15, @ say 217p?, will now be under-water (although there has been plenty of opportunity to turn in a profit). Interesting Odey, referred to in the article, dropped their exposure slightly on 03/03/16. | septimus quaid
11/3/2016 10:53 | kiss kiss, this is what happens when you play follow my fat boy leader... Whos buying that yeild and M&A prospect now? Think before short imo. | kmann
10/3/2016 07:28 | many interesting points covered in 7/3 Telegraph article:- ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
09/3/2016 13:21 | when I first started posting here many months ago, I recall you were a decent poster xxxy. now I think you're an inane bonehead. why's that?all shares go up and down, so how astute do you think your 'it wont last' post which appears just after it's gone down is?, the first appearing when this was 190p iirc. | pierre oreilly
09/3/2016 09:22 | It won't last. | xxxxxy
09/3/2016 08:45 | Chart looks good. Don't rule out a game changer on TALK, something eles mentioned in the interview as M&A and convergence continues in the sector. | kmann
09/3/2016 08:03 | Double Bottom [e&a] confirmed yesterday min target 284 | bamboo2
09/3/2016 07:52 | That is my opinion on Dido, keeping your nerve is a sure sign of a proper and committed leader. | septimus quaid
08/3/2016 21:28 | Keif, FT summary, acknolgement of security issues and better for it. They had to play things caustiously as there were randsom demands during the hack. Retained customers, who feel company handled thing adequately. Recent offcom findings should be of benifit to TT. Looking to improve margins. Moving from a srartup mentality to fully fledged bluechip vision. Dido has held it together when other ceos would have cracked imo. | kmann
08/3/2016 18:26 | The shorters must have nerves of steel if they haven't closed today. I hope someone posts the short position changes- best for holders of course if no shorts have been closed - eventually they'll have to buy to close. I'd guess the rise today is some buying back in for a cheaper price than they sold at some months ago - must be lots around, always an easier decision to buy back in cheaper than they were sold at. Having been in a big profit position, then a big loss position, i think i'm more or less about even at this price. | pierre oreilly
08/3/2016 16:41 | Uncrossing trade at 252p - adds to the recent trend towards a closing auction price above the bid-offer range immediately prior to close. | 1gw
08/3/2016 15:07 | This looks promising. TALK showing the biggest gains on the FTSE 250 today | rathlindri
08/3/2016 14:39 | Closing in on that 250p test. Is this a short squeeze, or is this the prelude to a short squeeze? Average shares on loan in February was 95m according to Euroclear. Average daily volume since it closed at 193p on 11th Feb has been only about 1m shares (source: Yahoo! Finance). If that SOL number reflects mainly short positions, the daily volume would suggest there's a lot still out there. | 1gw
08/3/2016 12:22 | Capital Group down to 14.9% (143m shares) as of 4th March, having previously declared 16.0% (153m shares) as of 10th August. | 1gw
08/3/2016 11:53 | "Where would the shareprice be if the hack hadn't happened?" Maybe higher indeed. However if they hadn't had that (minor) hack which has (I hope) caused them to toughen up their security, they would still be vulnerable to a major hack which might really destroy the company. So looking on the bright side, the hack perhaps saved them ;-) | stevie blunder
08/3/2016 10:25 | I hope so, but prefer 400p, the pre-hack price. Where would the shareprice be if the hack hadn't happened? 600p? I expect eventually it will be valued on the same basis as before. Afaics, it's offering by far the best deals atm, with the discounts being such that every six months of an 18 month contract, some discount or other expires (so rising revenue from existing subscribers on discount is built in). | pierre oreilly
08/3/2016 09:16 | Are we at last on the gradual road to recovery and 300p? share price seems to be a bit better behaved recently. | its the oxman
07/3/2016 08:29 | kMann - what's it's saying as some of us (me included) can't access it...due to the paywall - cheers | keifer derrin |
