20/4/2016 18:31 | The problem is we don't seem to have a strong bargaining position, maybe Utilico can play a part in achieving a good offer price for shareholders. | androyd
20/4/2016 18:29 | Looks like an offer to me. Trading will be interesting tomorrow | mikeh30
20/4/2016 18:27 | Dunno it looks like an offer to me. They've titled the rns "SyQic PLC Statement re Possible Offer" and the rest of the board have started an independent committee to work out the details. They have til 18th May to decide the price then? | bad gateway
20/4/2016 18:17 | androyd - 894: There is an offer on the table from Mr Hassim! No there isn't! There has just been an expression of potential interest by Jamal Hassim and MMV to explore a possible offer for the business, which may or may not materialize in due course. "is in discussions with Jamal Hassim, Chief Executive of SyQic, and MMV Investments (HK) Limited, a company owned by Johan Robb, (together "Bidco"), in connection with a possible offer for the whole of the issued share capital of the Company.......The Independent Board are in discussions with Bidco but there can be no certainty that a formal offer will be made for the Company or the terms on which such an offer may be made." | masurenguy

20/4/2016 07:45 | Good find BG. Perhaps it will not be as bad as feared. It would seem unlikely they would be hiring execs if they were going belly up. | mikeja
19/4/2016 23:17 | Most recent news that I can see. "April 2016 – Present (1 month)Global Project directing consultant, leading a tri-party strategic project, for a launch of a mobile TV service in Africa." | briangeeee
19/4/2016 22:06 | Odd how company website news stream not updated this year at all.Good news normally trumpeted .. Bad news usually shielded. | mattjos
19/4/2016 16:50 | I'm beginning to fear the worst here, I think bad gateway may be right. | androyd
19/4/2016 15:08 | I have to confess when I bought these at a 'bargain' price middle of last year, I hadn't done due diligence on the original thread comments at IPO, who made them and who appeared to be 'associates'. That'll teach me. I have a number of noted (for my own use) suspect 'coincidences' shall we say, between stocks back a few years ago that were pumped on IPO and subsequently flew and then plummetted. There are some very common thread starter names. If they had actually done the 'long term buy' on all the stocks they pushed, they would now have lost most of their money, as most of the stocks have bombed. So presumably they were posting for some other reason than actually being invested. Which is not a surprise. 2 initial checks for new IPO's: 1. Are any of the directors on my 10 years+ list of 'persons of interest' ? 2. Are any of the thread starters on my other 'posters of interest' list ? They are both getting very long. | yump
19/4/2016 15:07 | Not if its bad news they'll string it out for an age. My bet would be the receivables haven't been paid and theres been a writedown on them thats bankrupted the co. Might be wrong but find it pays to be negative with suspended aim stocks. | bad gateway
19/4/2016 14:58 | Would have expected something by now. | mikeja
19/4/2016 07:49 | Worth noting that Utilico (UEM), a closed-end investment fund manager listed on the LSE, increased their shareholding in SYQ from 1.0m (3.7%) to 2.44m (9.1%) between July and December last year, making them the largest external shareholder. | masurenguy
18/4/2016 20:02 | Rakuten on acquisition trailhttp://m.market | mikeh30
18/4/2016 19:06 | Was it the Company that requested suspension? | androyd
18/4/2016 18:15 | Wasn't there a rumoured bango bid at 80p a while back? | mikeh30
18/4/2016 17:43 | The two customers "who pay so slowly" are Indonesian Telecoms and I can't imagine either of them being interested in acquiring a streaming content supplier like SYQ. If there is a predator who has made an approach then it is more likely to be another Asian company where there is some synergy or possibly even PTNP the Indonesian consolidator franchised by SYQ. The FY results are not due until June so it is all just speculative at the moment. We will just have to wait for a company announcement to explain the reason for the temporary share suspension. | masurenguy
18/4/2016 16:47 | Perhaps one of the companies who pay so slowly that it generates doubts in Syqic's investor base about their cashflow, leading to a very subdued share price, will make an opportunistic bid. But I'm sure nothing like that goes on in the world ;-) | yump
18/4/2016 16:36 | I believe it's the Company's strategy to attract a takeover so hopefully there is a generous offer on the table. | androyd
18/4/2016 14:50 | It is not obligatory for a company to suspend shares if bid for. I've held loads. Cadbury's for instance - the first bid triggered hedge fund trading on the market. If there is a bid, the company can suspend shares if they want to though. I imagine there must be a limit on how long investors have to wait for an announcement if that is the case, but I don't know. The EGM point was that they cannot already have been taken over, without an announcement and then some sort of official meeting. | yump
18/4/2016 14:19 | Sorry meant trading restored tomorrow. | mikeja |
