Spot on I've been saying this for over 10 years it's a good time to buy size
when there is a overhang and you can get the price and size cheaper but in this market people only want to buy stocks when they are racing away.

Have a look at ASH similar situation there with overhang

If there is 2 mil left then a mm can offer 500k online because they are safe
from multiple hits.

If it drops to 1 million left they might drop it to 150-250k online to play safe

And when it's 500k it will be 50-100k online

This is will clear in no time when the momentum swings. In a hour last week there was some 500-700k of buys when Miton announced the jump in holding.

Miton may well take the rest if the price keeps drifting

Yes I was about to post exactly the same, I can buy 600k shares in one go, so I suspect that CF are offloading their last 2M shares. No matter, it will just take a positive trading update or the next half year results to show continued progress, and I think we will see more buying. If it is the 2M shares then that's "only" £100K or so. It's actually often a good time to buy shares, when there is an overhang and you can do a 'fill or kill' for a large amount and you can get a good price... as long as you're sure it is going to go up in the medium term LOL NAI

Very little free float after those are taken into consideration.

If it had been the original overhang then you'd think that the amount available online would have been consistently large as they offloaded.

But it has just increased significantly in the past day or so and at the swing high there was very little available.

It could be the original overhang and the MMs playing games but equally could be a new lot recently offloaded. Difficult to tell.

Whatever the case there is a load of supply at the moment hindering upward progress.

But didnt they get stocked up just before christmas with large sell orders at 4.6, I think it just as likely to be overhang. I guess i'm splitting hairs but would prefer if another insti isn't reducing of course.

Someone has sold I reckon and the trades are still to be printed.

I can currently buy over £50k worth online in the one go, so the MMs have got hold of stock from somewhere.

If it was just MMs moving price, that amount of stock wouldn't be available online.

Tromso1 - fair comment, there could be some more to this than meets the eye. However it could be just good old fashioned market making: marking it down as quickly as poss to reduce risk whilst still profiting from an almight spread. I know that its just the way it is and nobody is forced to purchase mm stocks but the the way the odds are stacked in mm's favour does rankle sometimes !!

Prices sometimes move on apparent little volume when in fact the real driving force (i.e. larger buys or sells) is concealed by the MMs only to be printed at a later date.

Wow MM's must be well and truly stocked up now. Over a million off the cap based on 3k's worth of stock sold. I bet it won't have same effect if 3ks worth of stock purchased. Been reading today about gov't pledging an extra 1.2 billion funding for new homes, could be an indirect positive. May be too little too late but certainly better than nothing for companies like SPGH

Am not surprised to see a tick down actually. The RSI had got a bit high, and perhaps needs a few weeks' breather. If we stay around 5p in that period I will be happy enough. A couple of decent RNSes before the next results, and then the interims to show evidence of continuing turnaround, and hopefully we will make our next run northwards... touch wood anyway...GLA NAI
