I was going to say it's a marathon and not a sprint but I was a bit slow on that one :)

Looks like a disappointing end today for SPD.

I don't own them yet because I'm short of funds but think they've been overdone. RR. worth a look at some point. Never buy on 1st 2nd 3rd profit warning. They've had 5 so could be the right time.

Can anyone recommend any other stocks? I've got my eye on Safestore, Greggs and Esure.

Power hungry MP's haven't helped either plus a rather clumsy tea lady :)

PR disasters and recent profit warning haven't helped in the short term. If Mr Ashley can get his act together PR wise then I think that can put a £1 on the share price . The company still makes good money and as we see a slowdown in the economy people will not stop shopping there because they offer such good value. Rich and the not so well off all shop there.Figures out on 8th December .

Just my thought Useless23. SPD on a p/e 8 after share buy back and JD sports on p/e 30. It's a no brainer.

It had been on my watch list too for ages. Same reasons as you I bought in a week or so ago. EPS took my breath away with such a present low share price

I bought SPD yesterday for the first time. It's my first investment in any stock for around 3 years. It's been on my watchlist for a while. Either this is undervalued or JD sports is massively overvalued.

Good rally at the end, plus they traded up in the auction.

I don't understand today's move in SPD. I've checked £/$ and the pound is strong today. Should be good for margins and also get SPD away from the 1.20 £/$ level.

Had a look around one of the shops last week. Quite impressed with layout and prominent big brand names to choose from.
