Posted at 23/7/2007 18:45 by aim_trader Nice Article From Proactive Investors!"....SPI, as the number two in the fibre laser market, also has a flavour of takeover potential about it, but as the company is still expanding in a fledging market, it would seem a bit too soon to be dreaming of a hefty takeover premium just yet. At the moment, SPI doesn't need any help with its share price anyway; since listing, the shares have performed well, and the company managed to raise an additional £10 million in working capital, at 200 pence per share, in addition to the £12 million raised at 140 pence on the Initial Public Offering ('IPO') and has strong institutional support. As the company is still trading at a loss, profit to earnings ratios are pretty useless at this point, so it is up to the individual to decide what valuation is realistic, given the noteworthy growth potential, yet sizeable market valuation compared to revenues." |
Posted at 09/5/2007 16:27 by markralph very interesting investors presentation with SPIL today.significant contract win today. H2 sales pipeline looks promising. a lot of interested fund manager types asking the right questions. panmure target of 260p (conservative) significant increase in their medical aesthetics sector. catching up/closing the gap between main competition IPG listed on NASDAQ. Very thin market at the mo. |
Posted at 11/7/2006 08:51 by alan russell Good news this morning.I'm a watcher not a holder. As usual with tech companies wonderful products are one thing, profits another. Present cap approx £40m so presumably profits of say £2m required within a couple of years to justify present share price never mind higher prices. I'm struggling to get a grip of possible profitability - any views? |
Posted at 27/3/2006 23:24 by walker10 I tried to add a link to what IPG Photonics of the US is up to but it will not work, however IPG is a private company at the moment so the only way you can get exposure to this exciting market is via SPIL.It is reported that IPG Photonics is one of the fastest growing companies in the US and that takes some doing. IPG expects to grow into a company with more than $1 billion in sales they expect turnover to grow about 50-70% annually. They state they have not one new market but 10 new markets and they are opening more and more applications all the time. Taken from an artical written on 30.Sept.2005. It seems SPIL is following the same path of rapid growth. Interesting. |
