"Dana Gas has had and continues to have considerable exploration success on the concessions. An extensive high-graded prospect and lead inventory has been developed for each of the key geological horizons from the Pliocene (El Wastani and Kafr El Sheikh), Messinian (Abu Madi and Qawasim), Miocene (Sidi Salim) and Oligocene. Dana Gas estimates the total mean-risked prospective resource on the concessions to be 1.5 tcf of gas"





BP and Dana Gas are 50/50 on the El Mataria onshore Nile delta concession, about 20-25km Northeast of SDX's concessions near Mansoura. Even they see huge potential, good to see they are going after similar gas/gas-condensate plays as SDX.

So Mr Captain, In a month they can't manage to dump 6m shares? Highly unlikely..When the company was admitted to aim they also reduced their holdings at the time.It's a non issue you brought up, I don't think city financial are selling but you do..

City Financial are a UCITS Fund Manager and as such their reporting threshold is 5%.
The rns of 6th March stated that they had reduced their holding to 3.61%.
They have no further regulatory disclosure requirement with respect to SDX until they pass back above 5%.

No not anymore, city have stopped selling they only reduced holdings. They would have had to inform mkt when the crossed below 3%, Unless they are selling 10k a day... :-)I don't think so....

Well, technically they didn't say 'spud' on the 20th - the said started drilling operations. So the actual spud could have been a few days later.

Either way, doesn't matter - news soon!

So why would they RNs that they spudded on 20th march, are they stupid? I think its a typing error on the annual results. You have to remember we are very close to mid April so that would imply 28 days , late April will be around 45 days..PW said once we pass Abu madi mkt will be informed..

I don't understand why people fail to look and listen to the facts.
The rns of 20th March announced "the commencement of drilling operations" and it also said this in relation to the targets and the time frames:
"The well is targeting gas in the upper Abu Madi section and oil in the lower AEB & Abu Roash sections. Drilling operations are anticipated to take between 30 and 45 days, depending upon what is encountered in the targeted intervals."
Then in the rns of 24th March and the Company's annual report, which is an annexe to the rns, this was included in the CEO statement :
"On March 23, 2017 we spud the carried SD-1X exploration well at South Disouq."
and in the section "Egypt 2017 work programme" this was stated :
"In Q1 2017 Site construction was completed, conductor pipe installed,
and the drilling rig mobilized to location. It is anticipated that the SD-1X
exploration well which spud on March 23, 2017 is expected to reach TD
in mid-late April 2017."
This video has been doing the rounds and as well as posting the above information previously I have also posted a summary of it.

If you go to 4 mins it tells you all you need to know on timings.
The video was published on Monday 3rd April and tli8jaguar posted it on here (post 863) the first time on the evening of 3rd April.
That leads me to deduce it was almost certainly recorded on Friday 31st March and time scales synch in from that date.

Agreed Cash - complete the drilling, then update market, and then test.

That would have been my preferred option. They could have spelt that out clearly at the start.

The interim update could be end of this week or early next. I think they should drill to TD and then slowly release on what's been discovered in the well. I see current no-news as neutral at this stage.

Yes, I get that, but PW alluded to 'updates along the way' and as we're approximately half way through (using the longer of the 45 days as a guide), I thought we might have heard something by now. I can wait.....:)

We are certainly in the business end of the well by now. 1) KES dry gas zone,they should be well past that by now, its a shallow play. 2) Abu-Madi Gas-Condensate primary target zone, they should be onto that now if not through it. 3) AEB and Abu-Roash oilzones, should be onto that in the next few days, within a fortnight at the latest.
