Just read that Canaccord have increased their target price to 190p (from 180p).

Certainly does seem that the seller has been cleared now mikeja.

There was a big seller before the results, why I have no idea.
Also a good haven in front of possible Brexit as benefits from £ devaluation.

Finncap retain their 185p target...though I suspect this may be increased after some discussion/analysis following today's results:

Superb Results.......

SOM Somero.......

Current Trading and Outlook
Healthy trading momentum in the US has carried forward into 2016 from the strong finish to 2015. The momentum is driven by demand for replacement equipment, fleet additions, technology upgrades and new products. The underlying non-residential construction market fundamentals in the US remain strong, evidenced by lengthy project backlogs for our customers that extend well into 2016. This gives us confidence in our growth prospects for 2016.

In Europe, we are seeing similar carryover of momentum into 2016 which highlights a continued, steady recovery from the recessionary low point in 2010-2011. The momentum drivers in Europe are similar to the US. In the Middle East, coming off extraordinary growth in 2015, we expect to continue to see significant opportunities in 2016.

In Latin America, we expect stable performance in Mexico and Chile and are optimistic for improvement in the other counties in the region outside of Brazil's economic challenges.

The Asian markets remain positioned for improvement and will be primarily driven by increased penetration of our products. We expect to see greater need and willingness to use our products and services as acceptance of wide-placement and flatness, levelness standards grows. We will continue to support promotion of the benefits of using wide-placement processes to obtain high quality flat and level floors through our innovative Somero Concrete College initiative in China. In addition, we believe providing customers with Somero's new direct long-term financing options, which was enabled by development of Somero's proprietary machine shut-off capability, will have a positive impact on sales in the region.

The Board believes the Company is well-positioned to capitalize on global market opportunities in the coming year and is confident Somero will deliver another year of solid growth.

Tremendous results today.

Around 16.4p EPS compares to consensus forecasts of 14.4p.

The 4.93p dividend compares to forecasts of 4.5p.

SOM also has $12.6m net cash, even after all the investment of 2015 in new products and facilities.

The result is even better considering the big decline in China sales - I'd imagine this will turn around this year given the efforts and ideas being implemented.

The outlook is extremely confident, and certainly the comments regarding conditions in the main US and European markets, plus growth in the Middle East and elsewhere, bode well for this year.

EDIT - mikeja, snap!

Expected outstanding results. EPS 17p,div 5p. Cash £8m,equivalent to 14p a share.Stripping out cash and div on a p/e of 6.5,yield of 4%,totally kudicrous valuation given bullish outlook.

Here's a new interview with the Finncap analyst supporting his initiation of coverage and 185p target:

I see they're aiming for a doubling of revenues from 2013 levels to $90m by 2018 with a consequent tripling of profitability.

g. -- Hardly a Penny Share though! If the letter has widened its brief to include stocks around 140p it needs renaming.

Cheers danzac39 (and gorilla36), that's good news.

297p is quite a price target given where we are currently plus (reduced) cyclicality etc. Did they give calculations as to how they reached it?

M.T. Normally I would agree re The penny Share Letter, but it does seem like a different beast since its re launch last August. Have just finished reading the article and it reads well enough. Balanced but points out potential issues. Have added to my watchlist but good to see that you and Rivaldo are posting here. Assume you both have listened to the Paul Scott interview, which I thought was impressive. SOM also got a positive mention in Techinvest this month.

Penny Share Letter recommends Somero. Great write up with a 297p price target, but no mention of trade in and service and spare parts business growing as installed base grows.

Good to see a series of small buys this morning, and it's having a nice effect too - haven't seen SOM tipped anywhere AFAICS.

I was just re-reading the Mail's tip from last month - well worth a read:

Ulinbac, the only reason I can see was Polar Capital' slow sell-down over the period from a very large holding, along perhaps with profit-takers from lower levels.

Hey,

Can anyone explain the decline in share price from June to December last year? I havent been able to find any bad news as such.

I am quite close to entering here but just want to be sure.

Thanks,
