24/10/2003 12:14 | sportbilly, you are mixing up the share classes. remember, there are annuity shares sandwiched between the zs and our ords. that money is theirs, being the divs owed but not yet able to be paid due to company act factors. it is those annuity shares which complicate the picture for our ords and make them more risky than an ordinary ord. hence, to some extent a big discount is warranted, at least until there has been some substantial nav growth to well cover the rights of the annuity shares. this is partly due to the BIG factor that the annuities have a life until 2021 and their entitlement to their div until that date overrides any rights of our ords. so, if the trust were to wind up in 2008, when the zs life finishes, there are another 13 years of annuity divs to be paid out before anything is left to the ords. | rambutan2 | |
