It makes you wonder how on earth these managers can loose so much money, in so little time. The offer price was a quid, with 70 million shares issued. Within a year they had almost blown the lot. But how? the above graph shows the FTSE100 rebased, and it certainly hasnt fallen that much. Indeed, in the first 6 months the FTSE had put on a healthy rise, but with RLU loosing a third.
Today sees a 4.9M sell, and if that was a block from the offer, he has just got £100k for his £4.9M. Surely it sould be on TV on rougue traders?

Having said that, and the trust, and NAV on its knees, things must improve (?). Looking through the accounts issued May, they have 23% invested in 5 stocks, ie BP, Glaxo, VOD, HSBC, and shell. Since the results period (28/feb), most of these have stormed ahead. If the managers can coax the other 77% of the portfolio round, surely its worth a punt ?

ah, the wonders of reverse gearing in a declining mkt, including a chunk in the houdini-like split cap sector. by no means the worst performancer.

This graph is amazing.... even I haven't done as bad as this graph!
