it's a 4-bagger over the last 2 months

creeping up on low volume

makes you wonder how it would react if we had a big buyer.

further to post 97

the YOY drop in NAV (2008 to March 2009):

from March 2009 presentation note:

Total NAV decreased by 70% YoY from $1,950.8 MM to $591.8MM (NAV per share down
to $4.70/share)

can't equate mkt cap (50m pounds) to reasonable cash balance + assets (nav marked down by 70% in 2008)

Cash balance at 31 December 2008 of US$21.7 million (= 14.8 m pounds)

Disregarding medium-term debt, this has to be a bargain at this level

Many property shares recovering in the UK and Europe in the past month
(xxic, mnr, ipi, ...)

rgi is still at a very low price IMO

Catherine Deshayes

The Moscow International Property Show held last weekend confirmed it's position as the leading event in Russia for International Real Estate developers and agents, as visitors swarmed to this concentrated two day event - the next one is in November...

A total of 173 participating companies from 43 countries ensured an interesting variety for the visitors.

xxic up 56% today (has some properties in Moscow)

this article offers some hope of an improvement:

14 April

Analysts at Peresvet-Invest said the trend suggested that buyers were considering moving their savings into property, and their company has received more inquiries in January and February than in December. Other companies, including Lider, Mirax Group, Don-Stroi and City-XXI Century also said they had seen more interest.

Well if we approach anything near NAV this will be a hell of a shrewd investment.

Not counting chickens but thanks for bringing this to my attention..

the fact that a heavyweight like MS* is taking an 8% stake must say piles about this company

i.e. that it has a medium-term future until the economy recovers (eg in 2010) at which point, its astonishing loss in NAV (70% down on paper during 2008) will, hopefully, reappear. And that the mkt cap may recover too, by equal measure.

Agree Daytraders. Trade volume is insignificant and it could be MMs playing games.

I don't dispute that long-term an investment here may turn a profit, but there are many risks and anyone looking for a quick buck should be extremely careful
