I would add ASPL to that list- a play on Malaysian and Vietnam property,on a c.70% discount to asset value and SDIC (german residential) on a similar discount.

as lots of property plays rise again (mnr, iere, ipi, eee, ..)
rgi seems a good bet

on iere board yesterday they said pile in to iere 'cause the discrepancy was: present share price is ca. 22% of the NAV (net asset value)

well rgi is in much the same boat:

nav : usd 4.7 (dec 2008)
SP now = usd 1.21 (so 25% of nav)

to see the nav figure (see p4 of this link)

I was comparing eee and rgi over the summer 2009. Post 137 spoke of a decision he needed to make after 10th August.

andrbea - rgi has done more of a gain than eee already 0.1 to 0.9 = 800% gain, you know that right ? eee just 200% gain.

I bought mine (rgi) online via Share Centre

Look at how 'eee' (property in East Europe) has rallied this summer (2p to 6p)

rgi could do the same

I'd hold

some dire shares (90% fallers) are showing signs of life, eg ihc rose 7% today

I've held these for some months now, buying in at 41C originally. I'd love to keep them and hold them for the renewal of the good times but since the shares changed from ASM6 to SETSqx trading on 10th August there has been nothing but tumbleweed around. What liquidity there was has gone down the pan and I am thinking that it might be a good time to get out. Plenty shares are rising fast and this one isn't. The fact that it settles in USD doesn't help for liquidity because you can only buy them by phone (at least you can with Hoodless and TDW).

What say you andrbea?

the MMs will be under pressure soon IMO to re-rate a lot of property companies who are in the -90% club since last year

eg the likes of rgi, mnr, ipi and eee

Why? Well look at how many firms (26) left AIM during July:

but Moscow related

BLP launched in Moscow and Abu Dhabi in January, breaking with a previous international strategy of non-exclusive networks of referral firms.

The firm spent around £200,000 on due diligence on its tie-up with around 70 lawyers from Russian practice Pepeliaev Goltsblat & Partners. BLP subsequently signed terms on 2,000sq m of space in a Moscow office complex, where it is believed to pay an annual rent of between $1.3m (£785,000) and $1.8m.

Well, I can echo those sentiments: RBS is our family's biggy. 28500 of them we had at seven quid each, thanks to the wife putting all of her spare dosh into SAYE contracts over twelve years. I'm another of those guys whose brakes will mysteriously fail if they see Fred on a Zebra Crossing.

I bought RGI at 39c some time ago and I haven't topped up since they hit 49c. I don't think I'd top up at anything north of $1 until I get get some profit out of certain lame ducks I have been carrying a while. I don't mean RBS - that sorry tale was pasted on here a few posts up.

Trouble (RGI) is the more they go up the more the harmless little punt becomes a major earner and then you start to fret about keeping it in case it goes down.

Hey ho.

Rhub - Still new at shares but now had my fingers burned on retraces many many times in such a short space. Long term i think this may have legs - just dont want to buy in at a high point (done that too many times in a short space of time)

I don't understand why apparent weakness (a drop in price) would make you feel more comfortable about topping up than demonstrable strength.

I'm at my limit - just a 10K no. punt. If it does well I shall of course curse my cowardice but there are plenty more oversold stocks out there.

A nice steady day on day increase will do me fine - I have a general unease about topping up more just at the mo. If it drops then i'll just change my mind. Want to see how far over $1 this will really go

last post today, not by me (on rgi board, iii site):

I'm holding for $12 in four years' time. I won't get there by trading in and out.

About three months ago I watched RBS go from 21p to 27p six times in a month. Right, I thought, next time it does that I'll sell at 27p, wait for it to go back to 21p buy back and bank the profit. It promptly went to 27p, I sold and it went up to 44p.

This will go straight through $1 very soon I think. There is nothing on the ask below $1 save the two mms who are playing this game with us.
