RB is total quality - but I still see scope at ULVR who are on for a leading peer group quarter again - and atleast £3 upside in the price

strange that because you'd expect their prop desk to be buying and not selling.

Me and Sheila did our sums on a Panasonic Scientific Calculator..it has Eveready batteries inside...its spitting out a level 4 target of £21.17

I think there is a strong shaggers concensus of lower customer spend, topped up with more severe competition..hence my shaggers stance.

Hope the £21.17 target helps before some of you more astute ramping rampoons get nobbed out of this game for good

Hope it helps

Oh PS......I'm not saying that Unilever are a poor stock,I hold them too, when I talk of poor stocks,I mean one with a somewhat less solid and spurious earnings, cash flow outlook than an RB.Switching out of RB into Unilever is what is called a "broker benefit",you might be lucky and cover your costs if everything goes to plan but you have the satisfaction of knowing that you've paid for your broker's vodka and tonic.

Nothing goes up in a straight line and if it did brokers wouldn't earn a commission. Many years ago,a fund manager of some repute told me that he tried to avoid commission hungry brokers, for the simple reason that they appeared anxious to get him to sell/ top slice his good stock holdings and replace them with poor stocks.Over the long term, not a good policy.Bit of correction here and then the stock will resume its upward trend.Prime beneficiary of sterling weakness of course and by and by,some bright spark will recommend purchases on the grounds that currency depreciation more than compensates for any revision to pharmaceutical earnings on the back of generic competition. The pharma division has always been a small part of things for Reckitts as we all know but it's a good enough excuse to flush out a few weak sisters as traders call 'em.

I agree, but the stronger correlation is with its own history. If you look at price behaviour relative to earnings over the last 5-10 years, you get a map of the irrationality hence a map of greed and fear. (I posted a small write up a week/two ago on the VALU thread). This map can be used across the FTSE and I believe it forms a much stronger picture of participant psychology.

So, if emotional history is anything to go by - this should end up minus 5% on the year. :)

P/E ratios for ULVR 2013 18 & 2014 17
for RB. 2013 17 & 2014 16

So value very much in line with peers.

Investec did downgrade from hold to sell but retained its TP of £42.60.

not this year... Sorry Deutsche - It'll end the year at a minus. You can take all the figures in this world, but when an underlying asset is the subject of irrationality, you'll always find room to arbitrage the ratio between greed/fear.

They failed in their bid as the FDA were awake to the game.
These tactics were obvious to forsight, subsequent rejection leaves open the long overdue price correction.

Technicals at £30.03 (17/3/11) to £36.80 (19/4/12) are clearly vulnerable now.
Big gap downs to fill the big gap ups!
Worth the wait towards £30

I think regardless of this news, a correction was required simply based on the irrational pricing by the market. This news is just a catalyst. I had a sub- £40 target for this year

Over buubbled, over ramped and over priced comes to mind.
FDA's rejection should be the beginning of a price correction.
Technicals leave previous higher highs at 37.11 on the cards, with a mid range of lower lows at 30.17

I am surprised that he was allowed back on ADVFN following some of his
previous threads which they deleted due to content.

Very lucky the RB. legal dept. did not get involved with some of the
comments made.

That's some way to take an investment decision. I'm tempted to set up a ULVR thread and filter him and see what he does then !!!
