Ticking up - results Monday I think, can it remain on this low a PE? And directors buying too.

Sector seems red hot since July 7th bombings.

large protected trade last night looks like it might have been a line of stock clearing, moving up this morning.

results ahead of expectations should see a strong move north - any further weakness will IMO see futher director buying & or company buy backs - a year from now might well see subtancial gains from the present price - my stratergy is to add whenever the price dips below 220p

Well how cheap are these then, with results in a week or so!

PE under 10 for this year, excellent growth, red hot sector. Seems the mm's mark down on the slightest sell so expect an almighty rise on strong buying imo.

CCTV seems to be thee sector at the moment, cameras going up everywhere and similar companies reporting strong trading
everywhere.

Well someone grabbed 6K at 250p while everyone is dozing - results in 3 weeks - and directors buying a wadge exactly 2 months before results date, last day before closed period.

with an estimated take out price of 400p there is much the to go for in the medium term - director buying, company share buybacks and the profit to be eventually generated from protec will ensure steady progress for Quadnetics.

You are correct the old management held the business back.I have watched this business for a long time and there have at last been significant changes - Bob Moir has gone and Bill Westcott is now just a non-exec where as before he messed around with the business. Their influence on the business is removed and the loss making Falcon has finally been stripped of the old SDA managers and from all accounts is beginning to see the light.

SDA and SSS have been good businesses since Bill Moir 'went' the first time and the previous CEO Bruce Hiscox sorted them out. From the gossip I hear SDA is flying at present and SSS has won new business.

The interims will not include much if anything from the acquisition and as long as the Q businesses continue to do well then they should be alright, the chairman's report on the integration will be interesting but the real test is in May final results.

the management at protec were totally inept at obtaining profit - it could take time to genarate profit from the protec aquesition - unless the management there has been disposed of - the full year results could be lower than expected

Looking to get in before results. My hesitancy is as follows:

Result weighted 1:3 H1/H2 so headline numbers won't look impress cf full year
Brewer D reduced May 06 results and moved from strong buy to buy
Integration costs of >2 m and time (plus loss of focus)while integration happens
take out values could be higher but potential suiters will presumably want to know there are no integration problems.
Problems in niche businesses could bring down the whole...
No contract announcements for some time

So, I'm pondering whether to buy now or watch until the full year results are due mid-year..

any comments? tia

Nice dip before the next leg up - if you look at the chart imo.

VLK - positive RNS - bodes well for QDG again - London bombings have boosted the business in the sector IMO.

QDG look like they are growing much faster than VLK but on a PE two thirds that of VLK

Woken up at last, and deservedly so, PE for this year = 9, forward P Eprobably around 7, 25% growth, recent heavy director buying and a 2% yield says it all.

I agree the upside potential is really exciting.

In my view Protec's business problems confined to one business - Falcon - the other two were well sorted by the previous CEO. Protec's management problems seem to have been resolved by the merger, the old SDA and Midia directors have gone or their influence considerably reduced which can only be good news. I believe that the operational management at SDA and SSS will now florish under proper direction and results should improve further. Indeed word in the security market is that both SSS and SDA are winning new business. The Quadnetics management is already proven so the existing operations should continue to progress and the failing Falcon will be sorted as well.

This is now a good news stock and the price should start to show it in the short term!

protec had problems - good turnover but almost zero profit -the new management will sort it out but absorbing a new company into your methods takes a little time - hence the hold up in the move north - the price paid for protec was low - the potencial is considerable - expect more share buyback if qdg share price weakens much more

Have to agree with you on the PE - though still watching until it breaks the downtrend. Do like the look of it, but more weighted to Datong DTE at the moment hence my post above.
Just out of interest there was a small mention of QDG in the comments section of shares rag today, which although not bearish did read rather negative, maybe teh reason for the fall today.

Well these look so cheap I've just had yet another 2k.

Single digit PE for the current year and directors buying a nice wadge of shares on Dec 20, exactly 2 months before interims on Feb 20.

The forward PE for the year starting May 06 is probably 8? Less?

Indigovision flying and although not exactly the same type of business the strong tradin gthere suggest it's similar throughout the industry as with March Networks imo.

IND on a forward PE of 100+. Okay, QDG isn't going to grow as fast but then the PE is about 1/15th that of IDN.

Looks a screaming buy imo.

when the shares of the protec holders are absorbed, which should be soon, this company will rapidly motor north - company buy back and directors adding shows the way - dont delay

I've bought back into QDG last week.

I'm quite surprised there is no mention on here of the £4.5m Stagecoach ontract that their Look CCTV division won - most £35m companies would make a right song and dance with an RNS about this but none.

CCTV seems to be a hot sector, Indicgovision and March Networks plus Visonic all seemingly doing very well at the moment.

Director buying just at year end is a big positive imo.

PE for the year ended 10 or less - forward PE 8 or 9 I'd say, perhaps less.

A good new year to you to.

I have been following some of the discussion on iii which seems informed both about Protec and Quadnetics - I side with the more optimistic views about potential for the enlarged group and think we should see share price rise in 2006. It does however start with interim results in February which need to be good.
