"Italian restaurant to create 24 Milton Keynes jobs"

A taste of Italy is coming to Milton Keynes with the opening of a new restaurant.

Italian restaurant Prezzo is opening at The Kingston Centre on Friday, April 18, with the creation of 24 new jobs.

Owners say the restaurant has cost more than £500,000 to develop.

Prezzo will serve popular and innovative Italian food, including a fantastic range of pizza, pasta, salads, risotto and grills.

The restaurant will have seating for 130 diners, 114 in the main restaurant and a further 16 either side of the main entrance.

It will also have a separate bar with seating at the front.

Diners can view the feature pizza oven and kitchen from each of the seats.

Prezzo chief executive Jonathan Kaye said: "We are confident that the restaurant will be an excellent addition to The Kingston Centre and to the dining scene in Milton Keynes."

Prezzo will be open from noon until 11pm throughout the week.

It will serve a children's menu.

The former Bar Roma Italian restaurant in the west end of Edinburgh has been acquired by Prezzo and will open as the first Chimichanga, a Mexican-themed chain, next month.

Prezzo set to serve up tasting earnings

Panmure Gordon has upgraded Prezzo (PRZ.L) from 'hold' to 'buy' as the restaurant group prepares to deliver its 2013 earnings results next week.

Panmure said the group was well positioned to grow earnings strongly in the medium term as it rolls out its Italian and Mexican restaurant brands Prezzo and Chimichanga and its fledgling burgers-and-ribs eatery Cleaver.

'In addition there is scope for improved profitability in the existing estate from like-for-like growth as the economic recovery picks up in the UK regions and margin improvements through less discounting and easing cost inflation,' it said.

Panmure has raised its target price from 112p to 197p. Prezzo traded 1.5p lower at 157p on Friday.

Yesterday, exec director Mr Sehmi sold #200k shares @ 117p.

I'm wondering if TAST is the better bet here (I hold both). On 25 September, directors sold £4.5m worth of stock in PRZ. On 10 Oct, 2 directors participated in the placing for TAST for £3m. Both companies have heavy shareholdings by the Kaye family.

Total guess on my part, but it seems that the directors sold their PRZ shares in order to subscribe to the placing in TAST, implying that the directors see better opps for growth in the latter company.
