Posted at 06/6/2008 00:43 by attilio7 Portrait Software: Azini stake buildingLast Thursday it was disclosed that Azini Capital, a UK based active investor in technology stocks, had purchased another 7.2m shares from Amadeus Capital Partners, thus lifting its stake in Portrait to 19.78%. This appears to be a positive move, since with Azini's prodding and expertise, it may in due course trigger a corporate transaction to maximise shareholder value. we should sit tight and await developments. Full year results are scheduled for Tuesday 24th June. |
Posted at 23/5/2008 07:53 by attilio7 Portrait Software : much in demandTakeover activity is also more than a remote possibility for Portrait Software, the developer of Customer Interaction Optimisation software. This week Azini Capital increased its stake in the company to 13.3% by acquiring Advent International's (ie Venture Capitalist) 9% holding. This is an interesting development since Azini is an active investor who aims to acquire technology companies. Assuming Portrait delivers on its potential - then again I would not be too surprised see the company bought out at a large premium to current levels. Full year results for the year ending March 2008 are due out in June 2008. |

But the company itself has been in intensive care for the past three-and-a-half years, after the group - formerly AIT - had its management team and product set overhauled. "Clearly, there were more issues to sort out than we would have liked, but we've dealt with them," says chief executive Nick Randall. Nationwide is the most prominent of the 26 companies now using its software to manage customers' phone, online and in-store activities. And, since September, Portrait has signed its first £1m licence contract, with a large European bank, and a new partnership with Dutch IT services giant Getronics. What's more, investment group Advent Venture Partners recently became a strategic investor, following a £1.37m share placing, adding experience as well as substantial financial support to the board. So, while debt was high at the end of the period, this investment, and around £6m in second-half maintenance payments, should rein it in. -------------------- Ord price: 15p Market value: £13m Touch: 14-16p 12-month High: 27p Low: 14p Dividend yield: nil PE ratio: na Net asset value: 1.4p Net debt: 170% -------------------- Half-year Turnover Pre-tax Earnings per Dividend per to 30 Sep (£m) profit (£m) share (p) share (p) -------------------- 2005 4.83 -0.48 -0.81 nil 2006 6.06 -0.66 -0.84 nil % change +25 - - - -------------------- Last IC view: Buy, 21p, 2 Dec 2005 Portrait finally seems to be out of the woods. Posted at 01/11/2005 10:52 by infocusint I made my first investment in PST a week ago @ 17.5p my 2x15000 purchases were shown as sells on iii and showed green on ADVFN. My reason for the purchase was also linked to Techinvest who have them in their trader portfolio. They first bought at 71p in April 04 and again at 24p in August 04.I also rate their advice. When Tip tracker researched tip sheets some time ago Techinvest came out top with the fewest losers. But they also said because it was a technology news letter, investors should be prepared for a white knuckle ride. As their portfolio could have turned £20000 into £20,000,000 since 1985, less taxes, they are worth following. Last advice was keep buying! Infocusint. |
Posted at 28/10/2005 15:53 by holdontight Seems I might be posting ot myself on this BB, but just in case anyone else is reading, below is response from Matthew White, CFO, to my e-mail about lack of information. Doesn't say a great deal, but he is at least responding...."Thanks for the e-mail - I cannot get into a conversation about the specifics, but I do sympathise. I will at least raise the issue at our board meeting on Tuesday to consider if our IR is up to scratch Any messaging from us to investors will be done in broadcast terms so please don't be disappointed if you find me reluctant to engage in detailed discussion on personal level. Regards Matthew White -------------------- From: Holdontightuk@aol.co Sent: 27 October 2005 18:01 To: Matthew White Subject: Re: Investor Relations Share Price Movement Matthew, Thanks for your response. I e-mailed Shore Capital at the same time as I e-mailed you, but have not received a reply! It appears to me that PST need to take a good look at both it's PR Company and it's Nominated Advisor. The PST share price has fallen again today, now down by over 50% in past 3 months or so, which is a terribly poor performance, especially after a funds raising exercise at far higher price. There has been no update since the AGM RNS : why not? If only to inform normal shareholders that trading is/is not in line with expectations. No contract announcements - have there not been any? No update on CAA deal -- is it going ok? I have been an investor for over 15 years now and overall currently have investments in the hundered's of £000's. My experience of situations like this is (a) bad news is coming but Inst's will know before PI (b) company cares not a jot about normal shareholder.....shou I look forward to your considered and prompt reply, unlike Shore !!
