08/1/2010 16:50 | Breakout alright, now equivalent to £1.02 in Canada. | the metal man
08/1/2010 15:29 | Looking good at last and breakout confirmed ! | bulldog30
08/1/2010 12:17 | tiger60 You can track PPN in Canada via the link at the top of the page. It has a 15min delay but if you have a TDW account for example, you can track the live price. The spread is wide as usual but at one point yesterday it was C$1.40 bid to C$1.42 ask. At present it's C$1.27 bid to C$1.43 ask. Now 82p bid - 88p ask here so a strong indication the bid price over the pond likely to move back up. | the metal man
08/1/2010 04:53 | Tiger 60 Each trade is a buy and a sale. In this case a large seller has given his broker instructions to find a buyer at a given price and it may have taken a few days to execute this. I bought some shares yesterday at C$1.30 and C$1.32 and tracked those on the TSX website. (www.tsx.com) Symbol PPN. | bulldog30
07/1/2010 22:52 | Ok thanks bulldog. Sily question then how come the sells show up as trades but no equivalent buys are present? | tiger60
07/1/2010 20:30 | Trading at C$1.42 currently which equates to 86p and a big breakthrough strong resistance around 80p . Tomorrow could be very interesting | bulldog30
07/1/2010 20:24 | I suspect that a large block held by Actis , Lonmin or Mineral Securities Liquidator/Cape Lambert has been disposed of and therefore an overhang has been cleared giving rise to a an uplift in the share price. Of more interest would be the identity of the purchaser , especially so close to the publication of November Quarter results. | bulldog30
07/1/2010 20:09 | Has anyone got any theories on the 20m sells but an increase in the sp? | tiger60
07/1/2010 18:32 | Canada looking better and my short term target is C$1.50 before release of November Quarterly results late next week.In my humble opinion this should be trading in excess of C$2.00 unless the management has really screwed up and will be worth in excess of C$3.00 if the PGM prices hold at current levels. | bulldog30
07/1/2010 15:27 | bulldog 30 Not bad at all. However, 20m shares sold is all a bit strange but, they were clearly wanted and maybe what has been holding things up, who knows. We just want that update. A good start in Canada. | the metal man
07/1/2010 11:58 | Metal Man A mere 20 million shares traded this morning in London! Not bad for a dozy stock | bulldog30
06/1/2010 14:16 | Production throughput is the key. We know what we have been told in the past but we need to know it's on course. PPN already looked cheap on projected throughput but with the PGM prices firming up they are looking extremely undervalued, especially if you draw comparisons with the likes of AQP. With increasing production and higher prices boosting cashflow, it should bring other projects back on course, especially Mphahlele, IMO. | the metal man
06/1/2010 13:35 | Yes, I see the trading as holding the shares in a range, but with the Platinum price now getting back towards 2,000 USD, the value cannot remain hidden for too much longer I hope? As long as production throughput is real, the shares should get a revaluation soon. We await the quarterly with anticipation. | orgasmicbeef
05/1/2010 19:42 | Metal Man And today AFTER HOURS IN LONDON ONCE AGAIN we have a block of 605,000 shares traded at 72p and after that 54,400 delayed report at 73p. This is most extraordinary and somebody has access to rather good info from the company to splash out this sort of money ! | bulldog30
05/1/2010 18:14 | bulldog 30 I did say 'any purchase that keeps the individual holding below 5%', being the only time it remains under the radar. Hence, even a reduction that takes it below 5% or, an increase where the current holding is already above or, that takes it above, has to be declared. I have to admit to being disappointed over PPN's valuation and would agree they should be more than C$2. There may even be a case to answer with regard to an indifference towards individual shareholders but, I have emailed the company so I'll see what happens before commenting. | the metal man
05/1/2010 15:48 | Metal Man Your point re holding percentage is valid unless the 11 million shares were added to or deducted from a holder in excess of 5% and in that case a move through a percentage point has to be declared. I have noticed some strange trading patterns in these shares , almost as if somebody desperately wants to keep a lid on the share price. With current PGM prices and company stated costs (allowing for strong Rand) I believe that this share shouuld be trading NORTH of C$2.Concerted lack of positive newsflow mitigates against this. Any share deal below this figure should be treated with utmost caution in my opinion. | bulldog30
04/1/2010 19:54 | bulldog 30 Unfortunately any purchase that keeps the individual holding below 5% does not have to be declared. That said, I can understand your thoughts on the lack of news flow. However, we do know that the PPN interest in Pilanesberg will soon be 100% when the BEE partner Moepi swap their 26% for PPN shares. We also know that production is being ramped up to 250k oz pa. Also, the year end has changed to end of December as of 31/12/2009. Perhaps there will be nothing more to report until the next quarterlies but, I would agree that we should have some update on progress. Given the current Pt price, projected figures and the movement in price of some of it's peers, PPN is looking very cheap if we are to assume that everything is on track. | the metal man
30/12/2009 19:25 | So who bought and who sold the 11 million shares on 6th November? Still the company refuses to give much info on its mine progress and all we get is a revolving door in the boardroom. Pathetic ! | bulldog30
07/11/2009 08:14 | For anybody interested 10,950,000 shares traded in London after hours on Friday at 70p. In Canada closed at C$1.38 which is equivalent of 77p. Since this is over 2% of the company , might see announcement on Monday as to whom the seller is. Take your pick of Actis , Karrick Trust (Mittal) or Mineral Securities. | bulldog30
27/10/2009 03:47 | Pillion Very positive that BG has stepped up to be Chairman and the new CEO is already hitting the right notes about the potential. Shallow resource base is the name of the game. | bulldog30
26/10/2009 17:02 | Keith got his P45 Keith Liddell, who is currently Executive Chairman of Platmin, will step down from that position with effect from the 1st December 2009, in compliance with the recommendations of the King Commission. | pillion
15/10/2009 07:59 | Dooby Results came out last night and considering strike action etc looks very promising. £1 by Christmas remains on target especially if the platinum price stays above $1250. One worry is that KL is exec chairman and a good CEO is on point of leaving. One of the lowest cost producers alongside Platinum Australia. I hear that at the recent AGM in London there was one shareholder present for the main business and no less than 4 main board directors and a CFO. Did this exercise cost less than £30,000 including travel , accomodation and grazing ? Very unlikely ! | bulldog30
11/10/2009 23:12 | Interims now due. Arrived 10 Oct last year. MDA should tell us a great deal. | doobydave
26/9/2009 06:30 | great project ,very low production costs especially compared with all the deep projects with Anglo , Lonmin, Impala etc. Assuming the platinum price holds above $1250 , I expect rerating once quarterly results are produced re the September quarter.Biggest problem was the complete stuffing up of the finance last year and the huge dilution that followed. The whole BOD at that time are to blame .....despite that I expect this to break above £1 in November and believe that it is worth £1.50 to £2.00 early 2010. | bulldog30 |
