01/7/2008 08:19 | They will probably bounce out, they seem to have good life insurance | pjh35
30/6/2008 22:30 | Oh oh...now in the ICU? | palwing
05/6/2008 21:04 | The patients I've seen use it didnt complain. And if they had not had access to its TV, email and phone facility would have been bored senseless. We have an ageing population this product is perfect for us now and in the future. Trying to watch TV on a mobile is not condusive to health. | praipus
05/6/2008 19:59 | ydderf - Your thinking is a little backwards. I agree that hospitals should provide TVs and phones with no inwards and modest outwards call charges; or if not; allow use of mobiles. But if they choose not to do not blame the provider of what service there is for providing it at below cost. I am surprised that a swiss resident is familiar with the concept of morality. It must be rare in a land that lives from tax evasion; money laundering, and secure financial facilities for dictators. | scribbler101
05/6/2008 19:05 | i haven't followed these for a while, but its good to see them nearly expired, the business model is the most immoral i have ever come across - here in switzerland patients are treated in a civilized way, can use mobile phones and tvs without being ripped off by exploititive opportunistic greedy scumbag companies and their follower shareholders - your self-serving arguments would be a credit to defendants a Nuremburg all imho natch! | ydderf
30/5/2008 01:11 | There are any number of things that COULD use a bedside IT connection; but given the horrible mess the NHS is in with its major IT projects I think the prospect of any of them rescuing PTL is well less than NewLabour's re-election prospects. | scribbler101
30/5/2008 00:27 | Noting NHS systems delivery in the press cant help wondering if there isnt an administration and identification application that could utilise the the kit PTL have in place already. Picture the scene finger print scan of the patient on arriving at a bed location medical record pop up on screen with the relevant care plan for the doctor, nurses and patient to follow.. No more files getting lost mixed up etc. Cost savings all round increased profit for trusts better level of service fir patients and customers. | praipus
20/5/2008 10:45 | well, hope you are right | pjh35
20/5/2008 10:26 | Havent seen any negative publicity for some time. I've visited two hospitals in the last 6 months and both had TV/Screen,Internet access and phone combination in use at every bed. The patients I was visitng all used the TV and phone set up another used the internet access extensively. I would guess that all the patients that could were using the TV facility. The idea is great, funding, media perception, business model are all things that can change. The political environment is one which wants to move away eventually from the "tax and spend" healthservice PTL is a small step in that direction and few stakeholders would really want it to fail. Lastly the revenue's though they declined for obviouse reasons have been lumpy so the next announcement might not necessarily be a bad one....I hope. | praipus
20/5/2008 10:13 | so much negaive talk and publicity, share price , unsure how much the systems are actually used within the hospitals | pjh35
20/5/2008 09:58 | Why amazing pjh35? | praipus
20/5/2008 09:50 | I find it amazing really that they have been able to carry on for so long | pjh35
20/5/2008 08:19 | Agreed Scribbler. | palwing
18/5/2008 19:18 | pjh - I doubt they have turned it round. I just think it is not in anyone's interests to kill it off. | scribbler101
18/5/2008 18:59 | amazing how they have seemed to turn it around from such a dire position | pjh35
07/5/2008 16:41 | As long as the company keep paying the loan payments, then I guess it's a big wait and see. Huge gamble to invest, especially with the spread as wide as it is, but could pay off in the long term. One to keep an eye on I think, in case they come up with a "cunning plan". | palwing
07/5/2008 10:09 | The truth is its a good product which has a consumer/patient demand. Inspite of media, mistakes, growing pains and funding issues there are clearly many investors and stakeholders who believe it has a future. | praipus
06/5/2008 22:56 | I thought this one was dead and buried - what charlatons have attached stings to it like a muppet and pretended its got some life in it? | sumo barry
06/5/2008 17:03 | More smoke and mirrors or is something going on? | palwing
28/4/2008 12:17 | Nurses 'need help with paperwork' from the BBC News website Caring for the patient is beginning to become an issue once again Patientline kit could contribute to the solution IMHO and it would seemingly make sense for the NHS and Trust's alike. | praipus
09/4/2008 10:36 | Article on Radio 4 today about increasing violence towards staff in hospitals. I wonder to what extent patient's access to PTL's kit would contribute to making for a safer working environment for Doctors, Nurses and hospital workers? | praipus
08/4/2008 12:56 | LOL..... felt so relaxed I nearly crashed the car! Not having access to some sort of TV, Audio, Telephone or Internet access is almost an infringement of civil liberty. I wonder what the EU have to say about NHS providing a reasonable level of comfort and facility in a care setting? Perhaps there is a case for the Goverment bying the company in order to maintain care standards or a Health Insurance provider buying blocks of access in adavance for its customers. | praipus
08/4/2008 12:10 | Priapus - I heard that. It reminded me of "Tubular Bells". Enough to drive anyone mad! | scribbler101 |
