17/12/2005 08:00 | As stated previously, Gold City Industries amalgamated and is now within the San Gold Corporation. I assume OCE maintains a stake as I know of no news to contrary. For those interested, SGR website address follows: Interesting radio interview with SGR President available to download. V | vassily
14/12/2005 04:03 | Article of interest: Let's hope OCE and other portfolios have quality junior miners in them if investors show interest. I think OCE may have a few. V | vassily
11/12/2005 10:56 | GS: Thanks. I have had OCE shares for two years and never found this website when I searched for it. D'oh. Not that the website is any good, as others have mentioned. Just not a priority for OCE I guess. So. What is the current portfolio? I am still in the dark. V | vassily
11/12/2005 10:22 | Vassily - OCE has always had this website, nothing new. Much info out-of-date | giant steps
11/12/2005 04:29 | I asked on the TMC board about OCE stake and Energyi you are completely correct they got rid of their stake. Uhmmm. Oh well. I also found out that OCE now has a website. The portfolio is as follows: Portfolio Companies Ocean is a significant shareholder in all of the companies in its portfolio upon conversion of the loan notes. This effectively gives Ocean a significant stake in a series of projects and developments. Company ORCH Investment £ ORCH Stake post-loan & warrants conversion * Archipelago Resources Plc £4,563,000.00 44% BM Diamondcorp Inc £1,750,000.00 35% BPK Resources Inc £2,195,000.00 32% Bralorne Pioneer Gold Mines Limited £5,000,000.00 44% Burdekin Pacific Limited £1,301,000.00 42% Cambrian Forestry Products Plc £845,000.00 20% Gold City Industries Ltd. £2,400,000.00 14% Intierra Limited £300,000.00 17% Orevest Plc £3,600,000.00 22% Picobello Andalucita S.L. £2,600,000.00 30% Rheochem Limited £5,774,000.00 49% Scorpio Mining Corporation £1,000,000.00 7% St Barbara Mines Ltd £3,052,000.00 17% StrataGold Corporation £304,000.00 10% Terra Nova Gold Corporation £2,600,000.00 58% £37,284,000.00 * assuming no further issue of equity Only £3.8 million of the portfolio is in straight equity, the balance is in debt instruments, which are either redeemable or convertible into holdings of between 20% and 67% of investee company's share capital. In some cases (approximately £7.5 million) Ocean has negotiated a loan repayable in gold at £315.00 per oz. At current gold prices there is an unrealized profit of approximately £1 million. The company has not hedged this position but will consider protecting any downside in the gold price in order to protect this unrealized gain. Sorry about the messy paste. Seems that some of the original portfolio is gone. V | vassily
10/12/2005 08:44 | Energyi: Thanks for asking for the portfolio. I asked a while back, but no reply. I hope you have better luck. I think everyone involved would like a clearer idea of what OCE is holding and has sold. V | vassily

10/12/2005 06:47 | GS: Sorry if I made a mistake on TMC. I do not have access to your interim report. OCE is reluctant to divulge a lot of info. on its holdings electronically so I am left to scratch around. My information came from the an ADVFN TMC BB: It shows the holdings as of 22/11/2005. Ocean Resources is still listed. There are also no RNS messages from OCE or TMC suggesting a sale of shares in August, September or October 2005. 3.254% of TMC shares is a substantial holding so wouldn't it show up somewhere, particularly on the TMC RNS stream? The only RNS I found shows OCE bought shares/is interested in more. See below. It is shame if they have sold as this share looks like it has more to do. And TMC is believed to be linked to the 3rd largest nickel deposit (soon to be) available for mining. Why sell this a stake in this, however small? Toledo Mining Corporation PLC 29 October 2004 Toledo Mining Corporation plc Shareholding in Company The Company has received a notification dated 21 September 2004 that Ocean Resources Capital Holdings plc subscribed for 33.275,000 ordinary shares as part of the placing announced on 20 September 2004 and as a result is interested in 673,666,000 ordinary shares if the Company, representing 4.94 per cent. of the issued share capital. 29 October, 2004 V | vassily
09/12/2005 16:27 | Can't understand why most of the mining stocks aren't moving on the back of this bullish gold run! Any insight would be appreciated. | shangrilar
09/12/2005 14:15 | vassily - be careful and thoroughly research OCE Toledo was small-fry, and in anycase the Investment Managers's Report from the interims (dated 26th Sept 2005) clearly states "We have also taken profit with the COMPLETE sale of the holding in Toledo Mining Corporation plc" | giant steps
09/12/2005 10:30 | As hinted at above (in 283 & 285), I think the TMC shares that rose from about 110p to 140p (27%) in November have a lot to do with this NAV rise. V | vassily
08/12/2005 14:57 | wow! perhaps everything finally written down/off and upside finally beckons. | rambutan2
08/12/2005 11:35 | vassily - yes, truly a surprise (some magic revaluation !) | giant steps
08/12/2005 11:32 | GOOD NEWS! The NAV has gone up. Now that is a first for OCE. It has risen from 26.34p in Oct to 27.89p in Nov. Rise of 1.55p. Current mid price (19.5p) at 30% discount to NAV. Maybe the December NAV will be higher than November's NAV. Let's hope so. V | vassily
07/12/2005 03:38 | TMC shares up +9% yesterday. More good news to come, so its PBB members say. Let's hope so. Perhaps the OCE NAV will rise a little in December. That will be a first. V | vassily
05/12/2005 08:49 | Good news from BDI mining (BMG): I believe OCE has a stake in this diamond/gold miner. Please correct me if I am wrong. I also believe BMG shares are now only traded on the AIM and trading was stopped on the Canadian exchange. More details at the company website: No change in BMG share price though, despite the news. V | vassily
05/12/2005 05:17 | OCE owns 448,223 shares in Toledo Mining Corporation (TMC), that is, 3.254% of the shares available as of 22/11/2005. V | vassily
04/12/2005 07:18 | Gold City Industries (which I think is still in the portfolio) has been absorbed into San Gold Corporation (SGR.v) and is on the Toronto Venture Exchange, as is Terra Nova Gold (TGC.v) and Bralorne Gold Mines Ltd. (BPM.v). SGR and BPM are picking up, with SGR giving some good news about their resources on Nov 15th. 03/12/2005 09:32 | Rheochem share price seems to have picked up. I was told there was a small write up in Shares magazine. Rheochem stills lacks news and results. Toledo Mining share price has also picked up a little, though it dropped back a touch yesterday. Looks promising. TMC board speculates important news to come in the next few weeks.. V | vassily

02/12/2005 18:55 | vasilly: Always thought OCE was a good way to play AR. So when i see AR. 31p-35p, it all looks very sad at the moment. Unfortunately OCE NAV for Nov'05 will be 2p+ lower than before, and December will probably not see any improvement. Hope for a better performance in 2006. 29/11/2005 09:12 | Here is some information on Rheochem (AU): Seems they are still alive. There is also a ADVFN board, though rather embryonic: | vassily |
