Strategic engagement with Alvarion Technologies

Mobile Tornado (AIM: MBT), the instant communications services provider for mobile devices, announces it has signed an exclusive strategic partnership with Alvarion Technologies ("Alvarion") to integrate its instant communication services into Alvarion's WiFi platform solution.

Alvarion (NASDAQ: ALVR) is a global provider of optimized wireless broadband solutions addressing the connectivity, coverage and capacity challenges of public and private networks. It has designed and manufactures a range of wireless-based Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint wireless technologies that can deliver up to three times the coverage of alternative solutions, even in Non-Line-of-Site (NLOS) situations, to overcome the growing challenges of connectivity and coverage requirements in a fast-driven digital global world where data transmission requirements are increasing exponentially.

Alvarion's "umbrella" solutions allow its customers to provide additional value-add services and applications to their end customers. In particular, the wireless broadband networks Alvarion supply typically enable Government offices and agencies to be more efficient and responsive to the needs of their citizens while eliminating the need for expensive leased fixed line broadband. Furthermore, such networks can be successfully leveraged to carry voice, video and data for applications such as public safety, transportation and educational networks whereby the same network that carries voice calls from one municipal office to another can equally provide video feeds to the police.

The strategic partnership between Mobile Tornado and Alvarion therefore offers both companies significant opportunities to address the evolution of "smart cities" and increased homeland security laws by offering:

-- Integrated wireless broadband for instant communication services, VOIP, video and data between municipal offices, emergency services and schools etc.

-- Rapid and flexible deployment of video surveillance equipment in public spaces, secure areas and schools etc

-- Remote condition monitoring of city infrastructure and traffic control with real-time intelligent systems

   --    Inexpensive deployment of Smart Meters to increase revenue assurance for the utilities
