Announcement of Management Candidates of the Merged Company
of Mizuho Trust & Banking Co., Ltd. and Mizuho Asset Trust & Banking Co., Ltd.
On December 4, 2002, the Mizuho Financial Group announced the implementation of
a program titled "Business Reorganization" in order to drastically reform group
strategy, enhance competitiveness, secure stable profitability, and maximize
corporate value on a group-wide basis.
As part of the implementation of the Business Reorganization, Mizuho Trust &
Banking Co., Ltd. ("MHTB"), which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mizuho
Holdings, Inc. (President & CEO: Terunobu Maeda), and Mizuho Asset Trust &
Banking Co., Ltd. ("MHAT") (President & CEO: Hiroaki Etoh) will merge under the
charter of MHAT and the name of "Mizuho Trust & Banking Co., Ltd." in March
2003, subject to the approval of relevant government authorities and approval by
resolution in shareholders meetings. Today, we are announcing the candidates for
director and corporate auditor positions of the trust bank to be formed through
the merger, as per the attachment.
