RNS Number:9851J Maverick Entertainment Group PLC 21 March 2005 For immediate release: 21 March 2005 Maverick agrees strategic alliance with New York based Peak Entertainment Maverick Entertainment Group plc ("Maverick"), the AIM listed company specialising in the creation, acquisition and development of intellectual property rights ("IPR") in children's films, television programmes, characters and related entertainment products is pleased to announce that it has entered into a strategic alliance with New York based Peak Entertainment Holdings Inc. ("Peak"), (OTCBB: PKEH), for an initial three year period from March 2005. The alliance will deliver multi-continental fully integrated entertainment production, television and home video/DVD distribution, publishing, merchandising and licensing capabilities. Maverick and Peak are synergistic businesses. Both companies are dedicated to the children's entertainment market and have a number of their own animation projects, Maverick has "Muffin the Mule", which is due to launch later this year, and children's BBC favourite "Snailsbury Tales" while Peak has action adventure series "Monster Quest" and pre-school show, "The Wumblers". Together these intellectual properties comprise an international broadcast proposition from which both companies can exploit the licensing and merchandising rights which have been created. The alliance has already led to "in principle" agreements with key licensees and is expected to be cash generative in the second quarter of 2005. Mike Diprose, Chief Executive of Maverick, commented, "This agreement will provide Maverick with a competitive advantage. The commercial opportunities are excellent and have the potential to significantly improve the trading position of both companies. In the near term, having Peak on board to drive the distribution of the "Muffin the Mule" animation globally will be a great help in securing better terms for the sale of merchandise licences." "By combining Peak's credentials in the worldwide exploitation of IP, brand marketing, licensing and toy manufacturing with Maverick's production, publishing, DVD and Video expertise we will take our 'concept to consumer' vision to a new level," commented Wilf Shorrocks, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Peak. Phil Ogden, Managing Director of Peak further commented; "Considered industry thinking would suggest commercial successes in the TV-derived children's entertainment business is a fusion of quality production to an international broadcast platform. Companies who have the ability to control and execute all these key factors from within a fully integrated business model have the opportunity to succeed."
