That is correct Ian, he was also of relatively modest means when they met.

#4018,

Well, his wife in (tax free) Monaco has. He himself is as poor as a churchmouse (for HMRC purposes)!

Agree on the food, Phil there must be people at Zara, H&M, Reiss that
are more than capable, it really is beyond me why this is not possible
and they continue to struggle.

Bet big Phil would have it sorted within weeks.

Highly recommend their Greek yogurt, add a few crushed walnuts and some
honey, bloody delicious - it is 10% fat so may explain why it is that good.

Under 3.90 these must be worth serious consideration, may not get that low.

Still struggle to understand why they can not achieve traction in non food,
there must be people in the industry capable of turning this around.

Exactly , I don`t want a retail chain telling me how to vote .

Poor decision to get involved by all these companies.

It`s a referendum for god`s sake......"a general vote by the electorate on a single political question which has been referred to them for a direct decision"

The Brexit statement in the paper yesterday was so bland and lacking in detail that the European Parliament would have been proud of it. I too am disappointed that M&S signed up to it and find it strange that it was Marc Bolland who was the signatory. M&S have decided that he is not capable of leading the company forward and has struggled to make any impact on clothing under the current EU model.
It may well be that the M&S case for remaining in the EU is strong, however, until we hear their arguments it seems pretty poor to just follow the herd in some scaremongering.

miikke - They are involved, they have stores in Europe, they import from Europe.

Quote.
We are making the M&S brand even more accessible to customers around the world. Our products are sold through our international stores across Europe, the Middle East and Asia and we continue to grow our international presence through a multi-channel approach.

Bosses at more than a third of Britain's biggest business have come out in support of the campaign for the country to remain in the European Union.
Asda, BT, Marks & Spencer, Kingfisher and Vodafone chiefs have backed a letter warning of the risks to the economy of quitting the 28-member bloc.
