Posted at 02/9/2015 17:23 by philanderer Investors Chronicle:IC view: The shares are hovering dangerously close to the IPO price of 140p. The float froth has started to dissipate, but the stock is still trading on a rather full 21 times forward earnings. With the brand's growth prospects increasingly tied to the luxury Chinese market, we remain cautious. Hold. Last IC view: Hold, 169p, 20 Mar 2015 |

Posted at 31/7/2015 15:19 by hazl I have just read an article about the Ms.Mellon friction with The Jimmy Choo company and it is quite revealing. Some of the gripes towards the end of the article sound a good thing from an investors point of view to me! IMO |
Posted at 02/7/2015 23:26 by starpukka Very interesting that the market does not seem unduly worried about the lawsuit by Tamara Melon. I expected this to keep the share in the doldrums for a while...in fact I was holding off investing here because of it. Thoughts anyone and GLA investors... |
Posted at 15/4/2015 16:52 by hazl JUST A REMINDER FROM MOTLEY FOOL'For growth investors, I reckon Jimmy Choo looks more promising. Earnings per share are expected to rise by 35% in 2015, giving a forecast P/E of 22 — not unreasonable for a growth stock.' |
Posted at 20/3/2015 17:27 by philanderer Investors Chronicle:Right foot forward for Jimmy Choo Jimmy Choo's growth plans centre on store openings and the revamping of existing boutiques into a 'new concept' format. Menswear and expansion into Asia offer further opportunities. The shares trade on 22 times forward earnings, however, so the company has high expectations to live up to. We initiate our coverage with a hold. article: |
Posted at 20/3/2015 17:05 by hazl the motley fool article in news is interesting in my view'What about Ted and Jimmy? Although it targets more upmarket customers and does more business abroad than NEXT, much of Ted Baker’s profit comes from the UK, and I reckon the firm could face some of the same headwinds as NEXT. 'However, the outlook for Jimmy Choo is entirely different. The luxury shoemaker targets affluent customers all over the world and reported particularly strong growth in Asia, where sales rose by 34.5% thanks to strong demand in China. Today’s best buy? Ted Baker looks a little expensive for my taste, trading on 28 times 2015/16 forecast earnings, with a prospective yield of just 1.7%. For growth investors, I reckon Jimmy Choo looks more promising. Earnings per share are expected to rise by 35% in 2015, giving a forecast P/E of 22 — not unreasonable for a growth stock. However, my choice would be NEXT: the retailer’s 20% operating margin held firm last year, and it returned 300p per share to shareholders through ordinary and special dividends.' Still like CHOO myself and clearly a posive remark above for a growth share. imo |
