21/2/2016 21:50 | I have been reading this thread with interest, but, let's be honest, it's all been pretty one-sided. It appears that most leaders go slightly mad after 2 terms in office & by 3 terms, most have gone completely mad. I agree Erdogan is one of the latter. One problem is what to do with Turkey. Cease any Accession talks with EU? Remove Turkey from NATO? Any suggestions? | bahtat
20/2/2016 21:54 | Interesting thread. | philo124
20/2/2016 21:16 | All getting very messy and very worrying. | bahtat
20/2/2016 21:06 | Seems Obama is supportive of Ankara's concerns with Syrian Kurds. | bahtat
20/2/2016 19:44 | Those 'evil' Turks at it again! | bahtat
20/2/2016 19:38 | Oh well! There goes the conspiracy theory that Erdogan organised killing his own people. | bahtat
19/2/2016 19:34 | Clearly the Turks have been bad mouthed in this Middle East nightmare, but each country in the Middle East is either sinner or saint, or maybe both, depending on what time of the day it is.Oh ! I forgot about the trivial matter of the Armenian genocide, which either happened or didn't happen depending on what news source you read.and so ad infinitum .They ought to ask the cleverest computer to sort this whole Middle East farce out, for clearly humans can't do it. | corrientes
19/2/2016 18:55 | p.s. Turkey is now housing 3.2 million refugees in total. Most of the Charities providing aid there are Red Crescent based. | bahtat
19/2/2016 16:34 | Might I suggest talking to actual Turks to get their opinions rather than sourcing just anti Turkish media. There is a lot of pro Turkish media (not State controlled) which gives a totally different view. Remember that Turkey has spent $Bn's on housing over 3 million refugees from Syria, Iraq and other countries, quite a few being Kurds. All Kurds are not the same. Turkey has an ongoing serious problem with Kurds who support the PKK. It is those groups who have been proved to be responsible for previous bombings and murders in Turkey. Turkey has also been training and arming certain Kurd factions in their fight in Syria. Some may find this (impartial) news link useful: | bahtat
19/2/2016 16:03 | I'm not in to conspiracy theories but there have been about 4 bomb attacks in Turkey over recent months. All benefited Erdogan who was blaming various groups. Now the focus is on the Syrian Kurds and fighting in N Syria,(which ISIS and Al Qeada are losing) he blames the Kurds. He is trying to get US to stop supporting the Syrian Kurds and further divide US and Russia. The man is at best wrong and at worst complicit in bombing his own people to score points with the Americans. False flags already been tried in Syria in the Damascas gas attack the ingredients which came via Turkey. | loverat |
