30/10/2008 23:39 | Shrewdies jumping on board today.........not long now | santangello
22/10/2008 23:40 | Thickasmince has changed his name back to something like it was. Was told off by another poster saying he prefered this. Just to clarify I'm not a newbie on here. Agree with the dollar comment nickcduk. Results should be interesting. As it happens, I'm happy with my level of holding for now but will await the results and consider again in a few months to see how it goes in between interims and finals. I feel it tends to go down a bit without news and Mr Market is very depressed at this time so my patience mode is well and truly on at the moment | mistertibbs2
22/10/2008 08:38 | We have the added bonus of dollar strength versus sterling. Using their rule of thumb on profits translation we are looking at a £1m boost to profits just from currency movements. | nickcduk
21/10/2008 20:40 | ......and again.....RNS?? | santangello
21/10/2008 09:28 | So 100k buys on consecutive days.....looks like the educated have these on their pre-results radar? | santangello
19/10/2008 17:53 | Great price to top up at........I cannot see this spread being on offer post results, so I added last week. | santangello
17/10/2008 20:26 | Just sitting and waiting old boy. Yet another excellent contract win in Asia announced today yet the price languishes down here. If the good news keeps on building, this share in the tech sector might just start to defy it's price. I hope so. | thickasmince
17/10/2008 15:28 | Crikey, it has all gone quiet..........and results not far off now, Nov. | santangello
03/10/2008 16:49 | Very interesting announcement today. | thickasmince
30/9/2008 08:37 | Agreed nick. Thanx for the reply. | santangello
30/9/2008 06:44 | Santangello, The 16.25p are sell trades but market makers would not be picking them up to hold on their own account. All these sells are being mopped up for a buyer who has instructed the market makers to fill a buy order. A fairly chunky amount of selling has been mopped up over the last few weeks and they even had to nudge the price up in order to generate a bit more interest. It bodes well. | nickcduk
29/9/2008 22:40 | nick, do you see the 16.25's as buys? I can see an interpretation because of the solid (recently moved North) s/p, but look at the price someone paid for a tiddling amount today 16.8p??? Hope you are right though. I look certain to add before results. | santangello
29/9/2008 22:28 | Very brave buyer mopping up stock at 16.25p. If they decided to take a break the share price would crash along with the rest of the market. I don't think we would be far away from 10p in that eventuality. Wonder if we have some corporate interest in the background. Its not as if institutions are particularly keen buyers anywhere else. | nickcduk
29/9/2008 20:00 | Sells mopped up again me thinks? Surely an RNS soon? Results not that far off too...... | santangello
26/9/2008 09:53 | JOIN "KILL THE SPREAD" CAMPAIGN FOR A MORE EFFICIENT AIM SMALL CAP MARKET WITH DIRECT MARKET ACCESS. Over One thousand people have signed our on-line petition and voted in the Poll!! If you haven't yet done so join us now!!! If you want tighter spreads on small cap AIM stocks and Direct Market Access, and small cap auctions - then join the campaign! To be presented to the CEO of the LSE Clara Furse. The campaign is gaining momentum and the press are now picking up on it..... Market makers should not be traders as well as there is a clear conflict of interests. Someone took 20p for 135k GEM when the bid was 26p - over a barrel with Market Makers the only game in town. On 10th September 450k SOLG sold at 1p when the bid was 3p. Same stock sold back into the market over next few days for 2.5p-3p Market Maker system leaves a lot ot be desired. This isn't "making an orderly market", it is profiteering. and please spread the word! | malkie
26/9/2008 09:53 | .....nice timely mark up just after I posted, so I thought I'd try again, lol...... | santangello
26/9/2008 09:20 | Interesting, now you "only" get 15.5p to get shut of 41k....? Order filled? | santangello
24/9/2008 20:11 | This is now becoming most questionable....agre Perhaps an RNS soon? And how come a premium to the bid being given for sells like the ones gone through over the last few weeks? | santangello
24/9/2008 12:51 | The sells keep coming - there's another 150k gone through at 16.25p Who is taking these though?, surely it's not the MM's as they'd have marked the stock down by now...maybe Rights & Issues or Schroders increasing their stake. | jeff h
14/9/2008 13:18 | Yes, 2nd half building very nicely though they say 1st half will be ahead of last year. The improved H1 is after forking out for a new Paradise office in Thailand, the benefits of which are already coming through. Given that the current forecasts are only a little more than last years actuals then the forecasts will be revised upwards after the Interims. Friday's trades a bit puzzling...if they'd all been sells the price would have finished down? - wouldn't surprise me if it was director buying. | jeff h
13/9/2008 17:31 | Was it all selling PP? | santangello
12/9/2008 23:36 | The overall message of the statement seems to be that the 2nd half will provide much of the best news this year. This may account for the modest price action and the selling that occurred today. | penpont
12/9/2008 07:35 | Encouraging trading statement. Paradise is in line and looking strong for the second half. Labtech is a little disappointing but should benefit from the deferred order kicking in later in the year. CML on course for a good year and continuing its recent growth. The added kicker of a stronger dollar will add about 0.5m to profits for the full year so forecasts should be blown away. Even without dollar strength I imagine the company will exceed forecasts. Management have under promised and over delivered of late and I expect that to continue judging by the way they have underplayed the CML grant news. | nickcduk
08/9/2008 20:35 | Yep Santa striking won't do them any favours. On another day of the dollar rising against the pound I think it's worth highlighting again the effect on profits:- Exchange rate The Group derives a significant portion of its sales and profits in US dollars. The results of our US subsidiary, Paradise Datacom LLC, are translated at average exchange rates that have increased by 6% compared with the previous financial year, from $1.90 to $2.01. The effect on underlying profit has been a reduction of £0.3 million. Each 1% change in the US$/£ rate had caused a profit change on translation of about £50k. Whilst the Group does not hedge directly against gains or losses on translation of the result, it does maintain a large portion of its bank debt in US dollars as a partial hedge against the net assets invested in Paradise Datacom LLC. | jeff h
04/9/2008 18:02 | Just noticed that Boeing workers are due to hold a 48 hour strike! Keep it up you militant crew....all helps towards knackering up the company's chances of getting the tanker contract :) I'm topping up again before the weekend press coverage and the t/u.
