I could be, chucky - sure, that would be good (I only backed off the meal-bet idea in 'the other place' because I didn't want it to be a subject for the BB next month - finally got sick to death of the board being about me - but I'm sure you recognised that). Unpredictable at the moment, but if you give me a contact I'll let you know when I'm down that way. :-)

V01101999,

Iv'e not been able to find one 'investor' here who actually knows what they are investing in !

Seems to be a cash balance.

though somewhere down the thread I promised to keep away until the next RNS (as there was no apatite for bearish view), I must add here that I managed to sell a company of mine to an Indian Company and whole process lasted less than 6 months from start to finish. The size of the deal was more than the amount of cash with IOS today. My friends in M&A say that their start to close time is 3 - 9 months and a further 3 - 6 months to match the buyers with sellers. So there is no way you can be sitting on a diminishing pile of cash for 3 years. Also as for the "good institutional investor curently on board" isnt that an associated company/fund which has funded similar ventures by same sort of team. I think the chairman of IOS has 5 - 6 other similar companies on AIM though I might be wrong about this and would be prepared to stand corrected.

I'd probably agree. The interims suggested whatever they're looking at is coming to a close shortly. I'll give them a few more weeks and if nothing has happened will probably move on.

Stuart - valid points all, and fair enough to you too ... but my point is about credulity ... I have traded these a time or two in the past; in the beginning I held their strategic idea as credible but now, after yet another comment about "we're still looking for an aquisition", the whole thing is beginning to smell fishy. Pardon my mixed metaphors, but it has become a Jam Tomorrow story and I now doubt their seriousness of purpose.

On one of these threads last year someone pointed out that any 2nd year MBA could work up a hit list in a weekend, and any real deal maker worth his salt could short-list, chase & close a deal of the size they are looking for in weeks or months, not years.

Have you any idea what 'something completely different' is?

There are big warning signs for me here - investors could lose the lot if these people pull the plug.

Be careful.

I don't think they ever were looking at manufacturing, were they? I thought the target that fell through was something to do with healthcare outsourcing in the US...? And before that it was outsourcing in India etc....

Re. what they have in cash, it would be interesting to know the current situation, seven months after the statement to March 31st.

As far as I know they aren't looking at Manufacturing at all anymore. Something completely different is all I heard.

Stuart,

I do have some respect for your investment choices. I just can't see any substance in this one. Good luck though, I will watch with interest.

ps hope thats not disingenuous

But Stuart,

if and when they spend the cash and acquire a manufacturer , why do you think that this is a good investment.
I think that some have been sucked in for the sole reason that the current cash balance is above the market value of the 'company'.

The good manufacturers in India were bought out a long time ago, and the India market is now very competitive.
I see that they are now being forced to look outside of India.

As for Rose-tinted specs, no Thanks. This is a punt and until details of the deal come out can only be seen as that. Anyone posting different either knows more than me or is lying.

The directors have a good pedigree though, and the institutional investor left in is a good one.

Brer, fair enough. They currently have over 25p in cash, so should be well supported around here. Yes it has taken them time to put a deal together, but they are nearly there (apparently) now. Clearly people are selling, or not paying for their margining trades hence the drop.

Hardie - I think you got it in one. Stuart14's succinct answer speaks volumes, and he, along with others wearing only rose coloured specs reminds me of the fairy tale, The Emperor's New Clothes ... These 3 directors have - apparantly and allegedly, etc - been "looking" for an acquisition for 3 years, all the while buying services from each other, drawing down expenses and paying themselves a wee bit, actually and accrued, because they can, just low enough to keep under the radar of anyone who would seriously care ... (have you looked at their accounts?) As the song says, "Nice work if you can get it ..."

NB: I do not currently hold these shares.
