personally speaking I have been fleecing IG Group myself over the last year.

I know that on the whole the reverse is true for IG Group.

Spread betting firm IG Group releases interim results covering the six months to the end of November. The company has already indicated that it saw a 9% jump in first half revenue despite a number of regulatory hurdles in Japan and the US.

Sales are expected to be in the region of £157m, with mainland Europe driving the improvement. Regulatory restrictions in Japan, which came into play in August, have had an adverse impact on client activity levels there, and broker Panmure Gordon will be interested to see if there is any comment on the scale of the write-down likely on the Japanese business.

The broker also wants to know whether back office integration delays in the US have been resolved.

Despite these concerns, Panmure Gordon remains a fan of the stock. "This is a low capital intensity business with expansion into new geographies requiring limited upfront capital. With £140m of net cash estimated at the May year-end, excluding client money, IG holds a significant free cash balance surplus to its regulatory requirement. Sale of the non-core Sports betting division, which has been speculated for some time now, increases the likelihood of a special return to shareholders, in our opinion," the broker said.

this is trying to break away from the very low £5, plenty of potential here and agree with mr_r.

Looking very nice.

As I previously mentioned, it could break FTSE100 in the next 2 years. I suggest anyone with a long term strategy to hold out until 2012 at the earliest.

I think its just a bit of profit taking. IMS was fine & I'm expecting a rise today with a finish above £5.

im buying in here next week, despite the rapid rise, i believe the volatility over summer and launch of the iphone app will allow them to continue to grow.

Love the divi. Great growth company. I am keeping for the long term.

It may well break FTSE100 next year.

Tomorrow's papers might do the trick and at the end of the week perhaps Investors Chronicle may rate them a buy. I think it's been an IC favourite in the recent past.

It's not a professional observation but there seems to be a degree of perversity when results in line with expectations are announced. It's not guaranteed but I have noticed that when the price goes one way in the first twenty minutes or so, it then goes the other. That seems to have happened with IGG today added to which NY is expected to open lower on Goldman Sachs so financials are probably being fingered.

guidfar, will have a play with CS platform when I have a moment. Just annecdotal, but a lot of posts around advfn boards with punters vowing to start spreadbetting as a result of CGT. Added with this, increase in volatility in markets this year, all good for business.
